Not so sure about that. Seals-Jones runs like he wears clown shoes.

This kid is an absolute stud. He is a game changer and could take over a game. If you add him with Malachi then no team could double team him and he will have similar stats to Landry/OBJ. Apparently most are thinking that A&M is the leader but that could easily change next year as A&M will not have the flash they had the last two years and breaking in a new QB.

On the flip side LSU will be loaded and if the QB position can come through then LSU will have a shot. Should have a great running game which will allow our QB to have plenty time to throw down field.

So they wouldn't have to double team Quinn or any other WR's LSU may land?

No double team because they will have to stack the box and try to stop LF7.

Get tha frick outta here. Anybody with eyes watching LSU games could see that a-hole. Magee, Hill, RB's became more of a factor 2nd half of the season.

stats don't back up your point but I guess your eyes do. Throw out the Iowa game. Not fair to compare.
The UGA game was an outlier. Every other contest had about the same amount of attempts given how the game played out. In fact, if LSU would have run the ball more, the Ole Miss loss would not have occurred.

Here's passing attempts per game starting with TCU
32, 20, 18, 22, 37 (UGA), 29, 17, 33, 26, 23, 20, 29.

During the first half of the season, LSU averaged 26 attempts per game. The 2nd half they averaged 25 attempts per game.

Yes, they passed the ball in some games in the second half more than they did in other games like the Ole Miss game because they were behind and had to. But the style of play was different the second half of the season than the first half.

Yes, it did. They weren't passing to set up the run like earlier in the season. They even ran a lil no huddle. But it was def more run oriented later on, Les' staple. But it's a no win situation on here because people wanna argue otherwise.

Upvoted. People who deny this need to look at the games again. That was the exact time in which the playcalling changed to play UF, and Mett struggled. Mett wasn't the same after that. We became less aggressive IMO, just from watching the games.

First 6 games 107/157 (68.1%) 1738 yards 15 TDs 2 int
Last 6 games 85/139 (61.1%) 1344 yards 7 TDs 6 ints

And you can't say the competition got better because outside of UF, everybody had been burned by big yardage through the air all season.

UF got burned also by Missouri the week after LSU. By the backup QB. There was no need to change to smash mouth running against Fla because they could have passed on them also. Beckham and Landry were just about unstoppable and with the cannon for an arm Mettenberger has. The ball gets there real fast. But Miles wanted to return to that style of play and they pretty much finished the season that way despite what some may say.

He's entitled to his opinion but he's wrong here. The passing game being more successful in the first half of the season doesn't mean LSU got conservative during the second half.

The Florida game was conservative but the only way LSU was going to lose that game was throwing picks against a legit secondary.

The stats Datbayoubengal posted up above gives a clue. They were just not comin out passin like before and went to a more run oriented style of play that affected Mettenbergers rhythm on offense because he was not passin the ball as efficiently as before. Yes, he tried force some bad passes to Beckham in the Ole Miss game, but he just wasn't in rhythm the second half of the season like before with slingin the ball around because they started running more. Putting the run ahead of the passin game.
