Quite possibly if his speed does not improve.

His body is still maturing and with strength and conditioning, and proper running technique, you can become faster.

Time will tell if it's RB or FB...regardless GREAT PICKUP for the TIGERS!

He will need to drop .3 from his 40 to start at RB for LSU. Especially if LSU adapts a more spread look with Gonzo.

Unless it's the tape, he doesn't look all that fast, but then noone on there looked very fast to me. This guy would be a devastating fb in the wishbone, imho. He does have quick feet for a big guy and is freaking strong. Not sure how they can 'teach' speed but if he can get to around a 4.65 he will definitely play RB at LSU and continue the tradition.

Great job on the list.Looking forward to the rest of it.Hilliard will be just fine at rb.We will never go full spread with Miles here.Every team needs a guy like Hilliard. For my money Landry is the top reciever in the nation next year(and this year). The guys at the top of the rankings at wr will be George Farmer(CA),Charone Peake(SC)Sammy Watkins(FL),Kasen Williams(WA). There are some other guys but those are the top guys with Farmer probably the guy to beat right now.Watched him yesterday and he didn't impress me with his constant drops but is a good athlete and has 2 other top 25 recievers for 2010 on his team.(Robbert Woods,Paul Richardson)

Thanks Lynx...

what are we going to do around here if Scout and Rivals or ESPN doesn't put these guy up high in the rankings..

The pool of talent has been hyped up pretty high around here...I hope the recruiting services meet our expectations...because the expectation are Elite in height...

The New Orleans combine produced a lot of slow 40 times because it was a very slow track. Hilliard has great feet and seems to cut into the seams his line produces. For a guy his size to be able to run the wildcat means his vision is going to have to be great.

Landry is my favorite player regardless of
class. He is so fluid and athletic with way above average hands. In the open field he isn't russell shepard but he can make you miss. He strikes me as very fundamental but not out of necessity but more out of being obssessed if that makes any sense. This is evidenced most in his route running, it's impeccable and that is almost never needed in HS football especially for someone as athletic as Jarvis

Are you implying that 4.4 is not elite or that he doesn't run a 4.4?

4.4 and sub 4.4 are elite speeds. There's a trade off though because with that sort of speed you will most likely sacrafice the other great things about Hilliard and Hill, their power and YAC

Oh I know, that's why I was confused if he was implying Landry ran a 4.4 but "didn't have elite speed."

Who was the QB for Lutcher in the Landry video?

Looked like he had pretty good mechanics and a decent arm

Gavin Webster.

He's a stud HS QB, but just too short for the SEC.

I could be wrong but isnt the combine in New Orleans notorious for having a surface that slows down kids' 40 times? I remember Ford and a few others ran a really bad 40 there.
