Not at all...I'm thinking it hurt us because we was really waiting on Cam Akers.

Yep. Slow played him for Akers and he knows it, as well as those that likely advise him. He was a take depending on what Akers did, and he may not be able to get past that. Not sure if Clemson did the same or not, but he may feel like he wasn't a fallback plan.

Thanks Cam Akers

You should be thanking the staff, why slow play an elite back like Etienne for an out of state guy.

That was definitely a mistake to put all their eggs in the Akers basket. The staff should have jumped on Etienne a lot sooner.

But but but CEO turned recruiting around and locked all these boys up!!! Truthfully I hope he does. I just find it comical with any change it's always the next best thing since sliced bread. lol

Clemson doesn't allow committed recruits to take OV's to other schools. Don't know if that's a Dabo thing or a Clemson thing actually.

We're gonna end with a top 10 class with a head coaching change. That's incredible. Orgeron is doing an amazing job.

I agree with you. The little bit I saw of Brossette in 2015 impressed me. I think barring injury, he could be really productive.

That wasn't my point. I didn't think he was doing a bad job.

I'll say it and embrace the downvotes that ensue....

If the kid gets that arse hurt over a late offer then i question his fortitude and resilience. How do you react when you get knocked on your arse during two a days? How do you react when you're not getting the carries you think you deserve?

His response to hurt feelings here will be a good indicator. Do what makes sense for your family (according to all involved) or pout, take your ball and leave.

I've always been fine with taking just CEH this year and filling up next year.
You would rather CEH over TE?

You can't be serious.

You wouldn't have signed up with Dabo when he was hired, either. Just a position coach, never a coordinator. No one thought he would be as successful as he has been the last two years, so stop acting like you know about Orgeron as a head coach. No one is going to accuse Dabo of being an X"s and O"s coach.

No guarantee which one has a better college career. None.

Is Dabo the exception, or the rule? Do we need to list all the position coaches-turned-HCs and compare the numbers?

True but for every Dabo there have been 10 failures in this situation. Plus, Dabo had the luxury of 2 'rebuilding' seasons.

Name another example in this scenario besides Dabo.

We aren't talking about 5 years from now. We are talking about his performance as a head coach. And Freakin Ole Miss counts!
We are talking about today and last year!
We are talking about a QB who trashed Bama for nearly 1000 yards and all those freaking TDs/ points. We got shite on the last 2 years and this year was worse than 1/9.
What's encouraging about that shite.

This years recruiting cycle started of promising but has faded, of course LSU will be okay we still have very dynamic talented players. Our recruiting after the firing of Les hindered our finish we placed all of our faith in inking Moses, Allen, Akers, and Wilson to name few. We should have throwing out that strategy early and started courting other players. When you start offering kids late you don't make them feel like a priority then we find ourselves in this position. We just have to learn from this, we will be okay. We will get players. We will learn from this year an will have to continue to offer elite players and recruit them all hard and the same way with the message come be great! We have to let them know you have to compete to be on this team from day one. Our recruiting has to become competitive, kids will realize that they will have to commit to maintain there spot.

The only thing they could do during the interim period after Miles was fired was to hold serve on current commits and targets that the staff had relationships with. What fricking recruit is going to open a dialogue with an interim HC?
