My understanding is Clemson had a RB commit for over 1 year and they shut down RB recruiting after as they have 1 take. However, it just came to light the RB commit school was falsifying grades to keep that player and others eligible. Clemson and the kid parted ways and Clemson just began looking for another RB option. And timing couldn't have been better for Clemson coming off CFP win and opening of their Dabo land football operations building last weekend when TE visited.

So Etienne wasn't Clemson's first choice......good to know

Personally, I would have gone ahead and offered Etienne before Akers decided, just to be safe, so I see your point there. As for the LBs, they had too much time invested in Allen to just drop him. Recruiting is about relationships, and it was awfully late in the game to start pursuing new targets when we had to. Honestly, O did a lot better than I expected a month ago getting in on some guys who are as good or better than Moses and Allen. Unfortuntely, we were likely too late to seal a deal. I'm still holding out hope, but I don't think the odds are with us at the moment.
I still see the fallout of the decisions made under Miles in what is happening now. Think about this- Jacob Phillips never would have committed to OU if Miles hadn't been a fricking idiot and taken his commitment when he wanted to give it. THAT stupid arse, short sighted decision is a big reason why we are scrambling for LBs right now. I don't think this is an isolated instance, either.
If early recruiting for the future and the offers made down the stretch are any indications, I think we will see a wider recruiting net cast from here on out. They will likely mean more requesting guys to greyshirt or flat out processing, but that's what our primary competition is doing. Anyway, I just think the results a year from now will tell us a lot more than this class will.

There must be a stud RB in JUCO we could find. I say move Ducre to RB. He was a good one in high school. And I think we have full back signed who take his place.

I hate being in the dark on the shite, WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK HE IS GOING TO CLEMSON?
In all honesty if he's making a cutthroat decision to go there a couple of days later after only 1 visit, that is not a well thought out decision and that CONCERNS me about him
