Having Leonard Fdid nothing obviously for us at that position. We can't get a stud running back 2 years in a row. I think LSU is the only school to have the last five starters go pro. We backed ourselves in a corner with LB and RB and Oline. Here we go again.

So in a year in which you fired your head coach you are going to question the coaching hire because he didn't land a top 5 class? Hypothetically of course.

Name me a coaching transition that resulted in a top 5 recruiting class this millennium?

As I have said before, this is a situation where you did not hire a brand new coach from the outside and brought in a brand new staff. You hired an interim HC, and kept most of the staff intact. With that kind of continuity comes some expectation.

Wherever he commit's, I would be worried about his health anyway. Did he play a complete season in high school in either his junior or senior year? Certain athletes are prone to injury and/or can not tolerate any pain

One of the main points for hiring O was that he'd maintain an elite class. It was #4 when he walked in, and it MAY fall back anywhere from 8-12.

Yeah, I think when you make the interim coach full-time and retains most of the previous staff, it's okay to think he's going to sign an elite class.

Yes, I am. Our coaches saw him play and compete in camps probably a dozen times. Clearly every time they saw him he didn't show anything worth offering. You said yourself he was a backup plan. Elite players are not backup plans. We shouldn't take a guy who isn't elite.
There is logic there. A spot now in the 25 is a spot for the next 3-4 years on the 85.

Jukuke had been a huge disappointment so far. We need recruiters on this staff at a position like RB.
I mean he knew the Swillings since they were kids geez
Makes me miss Frank Wilson.

My GOD you people are horrific!!! This is pathetic all of you miserable idiots are like little boys with a huge complex issue. My GOD, one little move in another direction but a positive one and the world is ending. We will hear one positive thing tomorrow and LSU will own the world and save it. Up and down, y'all need help!!

People keep saying this as if LSU actually experienced a full coaching transition. Had we gotten Herman or Jimbo, this excuse would be valid.

Our entire staff has essentially remained in place. Our interim coach, that had previously been our recruiting coordinator for the past year, was promoted to the full time position.

If anything, Orgeron has been screwing up pretty nicely on the recruiting side of things.

- Randomly fired one of our better recruiters back in December and never replaced him.
- Randomly thew out an offer to Tagovailoa, which pissed off our two QB commits, forcing O to do major damage control to get them to recommit.
- Lost out on Akers, despite the fact that Akers said he loved O and was hoping he would get the permanent job.
- Promoted a grad assistant to a full time coaching position, instead of going out and hiring a proven, elite recruiter and coach.

Well on the bright side this will make the depth chart all the more appealing to the stud RBs we go after next year. I'm just not jumping out of a window over this one. For some reason I feel like LSU will be alright at that spot.

Every year most of the recruiting board thinks we finish with EVERYONE jumping on board ...5 for 5, this year with most of the prediction threads of finish...

It's crazy and I like optimism but too many of the fans on here set themselves up for disappointment.

When has lsu ever finished getting everyone they wanted?

Never.

Here's to a good class

The only reason Clemson offered was because they lost Cordarrian Richardson.

I respect Brossette, but the guy is not a top level talent at RB.

Etienne and Brossette were both the 16th nationally ranked RB.

Brossette also had more Div 1 offers including Auburn, Bama, FSU, ND, Texas, Miami and UCLA.

After the injury, we don't know what we have in Brosette yet. He obviously wasn't as ready to play immediately as Guice was, but damn. Guice is a difference maker, so I don't see that as a knock. We got a lot of yards out of late-developers like Scott and Ridley, so just give the kid time. We'll know more this coming season.
