people fall for it every year. big burst of optimism to sell subscriptions around this time of year and then they walk it back to keep the good reputation.

throw in the, mom wants him to stay home/dodge chargers/girlfriend excuses for good measure.

makes all the "this staff is doing great!" post because we had a decently big recruiting weekend and coaches went in home with a few people face palm worthy. not like those things dont happen every year at every halfway major school.

Well LSU has finished in the top 6 in recruiting the last 4 years so its not like LSU just bombs out every NSD

Oh boy. This board is going to melt the frick down if LSU misses on Etienne, Gay, Phillips, Chaisson, etc.

How many did we have committed before CEO was named the coach?

Just curious

This recruiting season will be the culmination of years of losing to Alabama. These players want a chance to win a NC and the common belief is that LSU can't beat Alabama and they can't win a NC. Les Miles and his lack of producing an offense that could score enough points to beat Alabama has sent the LSU program back 20 years. I hope Orgeron can do what Saban did and prove to these kids he can compete for NC's. And that means beating Alabama and more than just one season. But, to begin with, he has an uphill battle to climb and it will have to be done with less talented players. It doesn't look like he will be hauling in many top 5 recruiting classes, and won't until LSU can prove on the field they can win. If he can't then LSU will continue to lose instate players to the likes of Oklahoma, Alabama, Clemson etc. The same as it was in the 70's and 80's and 90's.

Makes taking two 4-5 star running backs next year an absolute must!!! RBU's stable is bare!

We'll get 2 quality backs in the next class, especially if Canada's offense looks good.

Might as well start now then because we're not looking good for any of them.

I was worried about not having any commits before Wednesday. If any wanted to come here, why wait? Now I assume if this is true Ettienne will say so tomorrow and save us money on his scheduled visit this weekend.

Be nice if LSU would send him an offer instead of slow playing him like we did TE.

Not such a good idea to slow play home town kids. Going all in for Akers did not work out so well. Coach O still feeling the Saban effect and if LSU continues to lose to Alabama, Florida, etc there will be NO fence around Louisiana.
