40 yard dashes are DANGEROUS, people!

people fall for it every year. big burst of optimism to sell subscriptions around this time of year and then they walk it back to keep the good reputation.

throw in the, mom wants him to stay home/dodge chargers/girlfriend excuses for good measure.

makes all the "this staff is doing great!" post because we had a decently big recruiting weekend and coaches went in home with a few people face palm worthy. not like those things dont happen every year at every halfway major school.

I thought about that(him commiting to Clemson) and kids do crazy things like that, commit to a school because of the lure of them being a national champion. But that wouldn't be rational thinking if he did that because he said he wants to play close to home and Clemson isn't anywhere near LA of course. Then you have the fact that Daboo swings down to LA at the last minute thinking he can just take one of LA top recruits just like that cause he's the boss now.

If Etienne was to commit to him it would just be foolish and not rational thinking, but this is 18 year olds we're talking about.

Clemson has a commit from an all-purpose back and no other RBs. Probably an enticing situation for Etienne to consider.

If he cancels the OV to LSU then I would be more worried. If he commits there and then still visits he may flip to us still.

He'll be a beast in Canada's offense like Guice will be next season. This isn't Les Mile's offense anymore.

Not saying he's wrong here, but why would the guy, this close to signing day, commit to one school, only to take an "official visit" to another the very next day? Why not just wait until after the official visit to LSU to choose one way or the other? It's a week away from signing day. I get that "he still just wants to live the life of a recruit by going on an official visit", but I can't imagine LSU would be all that thrilled to host him one day after he said "I'm going to Clemson" Sure, I suppose LSU could flip him on the official visit, but then why commit anywhere in the first place?

Hell, maybe it's some kind of negotiation ploy. "Hey LSU, you're on notice I'm going to Clemson. You've got 2-3 days to change my mind!"

The timing just seems strange that he would choose another school besides LSU.

It would be justified.

Eh, Im fine with this. I've never been impressed with Etienne. Would much rather take 3-4 RBs next year.

Exactly, LSU has a full house at RB this year and will lose 1 next year. LSU will pickup 2 RB's better than TE. TE is not LF7 or DG5 not even close to them.

Commit within a week of signing day then flip? That has to be extremely rare.
