Maybe but he's a lockdown corner. Not necessarily a saftey. Granted his abilities will let him play that spot but don't doubt his lockdown corner abilities either.

Battle will be in the rotation for sure, but I see Jefferson as a full time starter. I think those 3 will play a majority of snaps and Eric Monroe will see some time as well.

He may not "start", but guy will be on the field plenty on D and as core special teamer.

I see it the complete opposite

I think Battle starts next to Adams because Battle had a diff skillset than Adams and Jefferson... He's a true center fielder at the safety. He would be the deep safety. Adams is at his best when he's closer to the LOS and near the ball. Dropping him deep takes away his best attribute, which is to be a playmaker. And Battle is that rangy deep safety that can play like a center fielder.

But yea the all will see PT though, no doubt.

No knock on Smith but i don't necessarily see him as a lock down corner ala PP7 or Revis. His skill set is more of the playmaker ala Tyrann or a Troy P...he's a corner that will excel in the nickel role and zone situation due to his natural instincts.

I'm excited to see him play, guy is a turnover machine based on film study.

You people amaze me.

I mean, he might. Ask me again around the 3rd week of August.

At least let him get one practice in.

If he comes in and earns the spot, then he should start. If he doesn't start it's not a big deal. His time will come

Might not be to hard to do. Rickey seems to leave his brain on the sidelines way to much

What about Corey Thompson and Ed Paris. I know Paris is list as a CB/DB, but he has the size to play FS. I know Thompson has the size to back up J. Adams, and Jefferson is a damn good player.

We have so many and I Suspect Aranda will bring blitz's and pressure from DB's and LB's. That will keep the Offense guessing. We can do this because we do have some lock down CB's.

It should be interesting. I think Aranda will have several players involved whether they play special packages for blitzing or coverage, and probably on special teams as well, even though he isn't the special teams coach.

Really we don't need another CB in this class. I only other DB I would like us to get is Jamal Cook. At 6'4" 190 lbs. and he will probably red shirt and put on about 20-25 lbs, so he will be 6'4" 215 lbs., he will be a force to recon with at FS.

He hasn't even stepped foot on the practice feild. Let's see how he does for a freshman and then reevaluate him at that time....so the answer right now is no. I do expect him to be awesome for LSU.
