Good for him. Hope he does well.

Hope the other recruits ignore the losers in these thread that feel it appropriate to bash kids

He's a good player, but receiver is the position it's easiest to get buried on the depth chart. This is probably a good decision for him. Good luck to him and I really hope this means the in-state trio is all but locked up.

I don't think he was scared of the level of competition, I think he felt there would be favoritism shown to instate kids, which I can't imagine happening. Happy that he stayed out of conference, though.

Saeed will be a beast for the Scarlett Knights. Best of luck to him. He's staying home to play in front of friends and family. Some of you frickers bashing him should appreciate that, considering we all want the Louisiana kids to do the same thing.

Not losing any sleep on this. I have to believe speedy and the other guys scared him off. He talked about them getting favoritism specifically. Ya think? Maybe because they are better?

He camped at bama the week after. Did either school say he really got good separation? I'm sure distance is playing a huge factor, but according to him it was a non issue two months ago.

I hope he has a great career at rutgers

Good move for him. We take the big 3 in La. this year. If we'd taken another "big name" OOS receiver like Blacknall, that type of WR logjam might have been used negatively against us next year with a guy like Tyron Johnson. If we get our guys we'll have the most talented WR class in the country, bar none.

If by bashing him do you mean people saying that he didn't want to compete?

If that's not the case then I'm curious as to why a player that was so over the top LSU before he came to camp( that many were predicting him to commit while he was here) to doing an about face. What was it that changed to suddenly?

He was honest and upfront with the staff, he handled his recruitment the right way. Best of luck to him at Rutgers.

He wouldn't play football if he was "afraid" of competing. There is a difference between not wanting to compete and not wanting to ride the pine. As to what changed, I have no idea, however, him and his family came down for an extended stay and maybe the distance really hit home? Maybe they didn't feel as at home here vs the NJ? I would guess the distance was a big factor. Most, not all of course, but most people go to school close to where they live. I'm sure the allure of playing in the SEC excites a lot of kids, but the reality of being alone 1500 miles from home is a huge.

I really dont think he was scared of competition. Kid is a big time football player. People saying hes not just because he isnt coming to LSU are just flat out wrong.

I think at camp he not only saw the great WRs we have on our board and in state player, BUT he also saw the type of DBs that most SEC teams have. And realized that hes never played against the type of DBs we have down here while the other WRs have and were ahead of him and more acclimated to playing against the best DBs in the nation. He realized it would take him longer to see the field than it would take Noil, Dupre, and Quinn. Hes not scared of competition. He just wants to go to a place where he will see the field early on. I dont think he would of done that at LSU. Nothing wrong with that.

Good luck to the kid at Rutgers. I agree with ProjectP. If Rutgers could lock down the talent in NJ they would be a damn good football team. Hell if they would just lock down Don Bosco Prep they would be solid. That school puts players in major NCAA schools across the country every year.
