He was honest and upfront with the staff, he handled his recruitment the right way. Best of luck to him at Rutgers.

it's funny how so many in this thread feel the need to come down on an 18 year old kid for picking his home state school.

How are we coming down on him when it's what he said himself. No ode is bashing the kid, he'll do great things at rutgers. Very good choice by him.

I would agree with distance being a factor. I would have guessed that it wasn't by how deadlocked he seemed with coming to LSU , but maybe that changed. It just seemed really odd to me that after Noil,Dupree, and Quin shined so bright at camp that this guys whole recruitment changed. I assumed that he was as talented as the other 3 so maybe it wasn't a competition thing. Anyway congrats to him. Hope he does well

Nothing against the guy, I just don't like the picture. I especially hate the "witness" part. js

Good for him. He would have never played here.
He realized the SEC was not for him

People who watched his tape saw a special talent. He will be a beast for Rutgers and I wish him Godspeed and a healthy career back at home.

For those of you who didn't see his film, well you can say all you want, but this kid is a stud for sure...

Good move for him. We take the big 3 in La. this year. If we'd taken another "big name" OOS receiver like Blacknall, that type of WR logjam might have been used negatively against us next year with a guy like Tyron Johnson. If we get our guys we'll have the most talented WR class in the country, bar none.

Im thinking now with the level of talent and scouting at the WR position very high in recent years in LA, do we just recruit that position locally now? I mean we can go after top outsiders but it seems like Louisiana has had 3-4 good WRs every year the past few years.

He's an excellent talent. Was hoping LSU would be able to swing him back but for reasons (not necessarily under Staff control) they couldn't.

Good luck to this young man.

GCTIGER11, I'll spell this for you very carefully, go frick yourself! Know who you're talking to on these boards. I've been on this board for quite a while and know more about this game than you'll ever learn. You were fine until the GTFO. I don't mind a little poking fun but don't insult me. It's called typing on a phone in a hurry dumbass.

Earlier this summer, Braves assistant coach and Blacknall’s close family friend, Cody High, was hired by the Scarlet Knights as an assistant coach/player development coach, leading many to believe that Rutgers would re-enter the mix.

“Cody is like his mentor and that had something to do with this,” Gurrieri said. “I would be lying otherwise.”
