Those are just rumors from other threads. Nothing is confirmed, but they can get hurt in practice

Theriot could never stay healthy and I think he was pushed for a medical because he would never see the field.
St. Julian had a knee injury that is lingering and may require surgery.
Chris Tolliver had several concussions and LSU doctors would not clear him to play.

Looks like LSU is back up to 85 scholarships for the 2011 - 2012 class.
Bonjorno, how do our numbers look now that the overall number of scholarships has been increased?
I take it the numbers are going to work out just fine now, based on your earlier work.
89 - 85 = 4.
Should be easy to reduce our existing roster by 4, no?

we are 85 or 86. might be at 83-84 if Mickey Johnson and/or Alonzo Lewis dont qualify.

Also, Peterson, Ridley, Calhoun, Worle, Tolliver, Theriot, St. Julien have left for total of 16 putting us at 63 scholly guys. The self imposed sanctions for overall scholarship counters were retroactively enforced according to NCAA ruling on 7/19/11, so we can have a full 85 man roster.
Underclassmen attrition:
Patrick Peterson - Draft
Stevan Ridley - Draft
Drayton Calhoun
Brandon Worle
Kellen Theriot - Medical Hardship
Chris Tolliver - Medical Hardship
Ryan St. Julien - Medical Hardship
We took 24 players for the incoming class which includes Cam Fordham. With the scholly restrictions only 23 can enroll. This means if everyone qualifies, someone will have to greyshirt; however, 2 still need to qualify.
Incoming that still need to qualify:
Mickey Johnson
Alonzo Lewis
If 23 enroll, 1 current player will have to leave. So as of now:
63 + 23 = 86

Ok confirmed St. Julien, Theriot, and Tolliver so edited OP. We are now +1 if 1 of the two FR that need to qualify do so.

Depends on how many are signed and qualify. 85 vs 83 means 2 less have to leave, but if you sign 2 more qualified recruits, you are back in the same place as far as players leaving.
