Keep it up guys.

I'm sure there will be alot of people come here and try to blow this off as if it would never happen like they normally do, but you better start realizing how many people read this board.

You suicicdal, constantly negative, jump off the side of the cliff, this program is doomed posters need to be taken out. There really needs to be a medium somehow on these boards to stop this fallout.

You guys think that you're just fans on a message board, but once a board like this that has an average of 5k readers every minute of the day gets out of control and recruits and players start reading this......things turn south. You just add fuel to the fire. You've become the voice of this fanbase and at this moment in time, not many kids would want to deal with such anger/angst.

//rant

Fire away. I know what's coming and alot of you will be trying to downplay this, but it's reality.

So T-Bob mentioned on the radio that TD.com does hurt recruiting

If you got this from what PortCityTiger posted in the Fletcher thread on the rant I think you're very much confused. I think he was referring to a caller, not T-bob.

This exact thing was said about sports talk radio 20 years ago.

i love TD, but the site is not unique in this regard; ND fans, Ohio State fans, etc., go full retard on message boards as well.

Ice, how come these boards aren't more heavily policed? Is it manpower, or is it just a more laissez faire philosophy?

I agree with you.

People just cannot handle the responsibility that comes with being able to have one's thoughts instantly broadcasted in black and white for anyone to read.

Our fan base looks scared and rabid, and one that will absolutely panic at the sign of anything less than perfection and good fortune.

I wonder as well.

This board has grown leaps and bounds and I know of what? 4-5 admin and Chicken? To police 25K+ posters?

I think Chicken needs to start trusting some other posters and name a few more admins. The amount of people on this board clearly is too much for the current staff. Hell, wasn't there a thread on the OT with porn all over it for quite a while the other day?

HS kids surf the internet a lot, and to think a potential recruit to LSU wouldn't read this board to see what people are saying about him is a little naive. It's sad what some of the negatards post about these kids some times. This board is bigger than any other college sports forum, and I'd be willing to bet that the majority of potential recruits and current players of LSU have read or currently read this board. Other teams just don't have the sheer volume of fans on one site where they can see the ignorance of some of the fan base in a one stop shop.

Unfortunately, that's a pretty accurate description of a big chunk of it.

it's entitlement combined with a horrible persecution complex. It's a really annoying combo

You won't catch me downplaying anything. I don't doubt that happens for a second. This is one of the premier sites that is based off of a single program, in the nation. Not only that, but we have a large percentage of fans from accross the nation and even abroad on here. People would be amazed by who is lurking and posting on this site. Matter of fact, I know a few LSU players, who are current starters, that are my friends that have mentioned something that they saw on here before. That's why if you look at my post history, I've stayed away from bashing any player.

I know every school has its share of chicken littles, but it seems the catastrophe syndrome is woven into the psyche of LSU fandom.

I think the recruiting board should be policed to the point of facism. Perhaps limited by post count, permission, or maybe just locked information update threads. Because seriously what good does it do having a forum for the same thousand panicked comments and questions?

The content may not be unique relative to those other schools, but the volume and traffic is. I don't think any other college sports board approaches TD in terms of traffic.
