And he announces Monday. Good timing!

Also, Willis, Noil, Brown and possibly Fournette to make OV Dec 6th...

This info from Derek Ponamsky on 98.1 last night.

I am not sure if anyone has said this yet or not, but this looks like very good news.

Willis and Noil were not considering Alabama at all. So if they are making a group announcement, then I would give a huge edge to LSU. I know Brown and Fournette made a visit to Alabama, but after the win over A&M I think that was tremendous for us.

Its possible that some of them are trying to do what Robert Nkemdiche, Laremy Tunsil, and Laquon Treadwell did last year, which was commit as a group.

The bowl projections has us playing Baylor, which would be awesome to shut them down like we did A&M.

So Memphis we are now done for Hootie? Are we at least going to get Quille? Or have some last minute things changed that as well? Anything else you can give us before the ban takes place?

Adams isn't really the Hootie replacement... We want and will take both... #Ride4Hootie #Ride4Jamal and By God #Ride4Quille

How could the staff mismanage hooties recruiting by not focusing enough on the mom? Wasnt it common knowledge that the mom was a big priority in this?

perhaps they figured that Clifton Garrett's mom was a bigger priority.

If this is true ( and I find it hard to believe that it is) then there is really no excuse. Hooties mom should have been in a suite enjoying the game and sipping drinks with umbrellas in it while someone was waiting on her hand and foot. After the game I would have thought that Les Miles would of had a nice dinner with the recruits and their families and had a chance to schmooze them even more. This is very disappointing IF TRUE.

Memphis- Is it safe to say that we have effectively lost control of Monroe as it relates to recruiting?

Absolutely. I'm not saying that it's true...in fact it seems hard to believe. But IF TRUE then thats a big error on the coaching staffs part.
I just hope we get Quille Mon.
And why the in home Sun night then? Lets focus on some recruits we have a shot at. For example, maybe we can get Jamal Adams??

it isn't true, just chicken-little reaction. It is quite possible that the staff gave her ample time and she just wasn't "blown away". My kid and I toured Tulane several years ago, it was her dream school academically. We both were pretty underwhelmed with most of the tour.

Also...a) Les hosted them at his home and b) he's been invited into their home Sunday night. If the staff blew it I doubt this would be the case...

Legit question... Not being a Negi-Tiger, but to lose 2 5 Star recruits in the same class from Monroe makes it appear our strategy for recruiting up there isn't rock solid...

And this would be puzzling also. I don't know if I can recall ever a recruit or his family not loving their visit to LSU. I mean I know that we don't sign every recruit that came here and loved their visit, but I seriously don't ever remembering a recruits visit that wasn't a "Hit ." Something is starting to smell bad about this whole situation. Just doesn't add up

Maybe, just maybe, it has nothing to do with our recruiting strategy up there at all. Cam Robinson is an offensive lineman. Bama (going for their 3rd straight national title) puts a lot of OL's in the NFL. Saban is also very good at coaching up DB's. Again, they are also the marquee program in the nation right now. It's not like these kids are choosing other schools over LSU. If we had lost these kids to Ole Miss or even Auburn then I'd be concerned. But it's hard to not see the appeal of playing for Saban and Bama right now. Keep in mind we are also winning more than our fair share of battles w Bama for Louisiana recruits yet some just want to focus on the battles that we arent winning.

Maybe a conference call with PP7 and the Honey Badger would help Sunday night?

Another thing to consider is Redfield and Memphis were adamant Hootie was going to LSU. Now they are adamant hes going to Bama. Maybe we do have a shot. And I'm not knocking our 'insiders'. They probably thought they knew something or trusted their 'sources'. Really just shows how inexact and uncertain recruiting is.

no doubt, maybe that's why Haley is spending more time up there. On the other hand, if your competitor is willing to buy it's way in, you may decide your resources are better spent in other areas, like Texas. We're all emotional over state lines, but I really don't care if a stud comes from Dallas or Shreveport. When it boils down to it, Bama outspends LSU in recruiting by about 2x.
