HUDL says he is 6'3" 185 lbs. If that is true, that is a big difference vs. 6'1" 170.

He performs in a spread offense, just like Jennings and Harris did in HS. Is LSU going to try to convert him to play under center like they have with Jennings and Harris? I hope there have been lessons learned.

I like McMillan's quick reads and accurate throws. I believe he should be at least a 4 star.

not passing wise, just body type and height.

Yeah, if I had to rate him using Rivals scale....he is like a minimum 4* or 5.8 rating. Their 2* rating is . The main question I have is can the guy zip the ball. I know he can throw touch passes...I know he can move around...I know he can throw accurate passes. What I haven't seen in the hard, slant type or sideline throw. Thus, without seeing those, I can't judge that capability

I see him looking off a safety multiple times, something our QBs struggle to do consistently. I see him putting the ball on the outside shoulder opposite the defender multiple times. I see him moving to his 2nd read multiple times. I see him make quick decisions to throw and/or run. And when he does run, he's shifty and quick.

I see a raw delivery, but it will get better and quicker...his throwing motion is less a priority than the skills above.

I sort of agree with what you said...certain the accuracy part. I will say that he targets Lodge about as much as Jennings targets Dural and of course AJ gets crucified by some LSU fans for that. Yeah, his delivery has something to do with the passes her throws a lot of...those are the 50 yard "I throw it up to you, Lodge, and you run under it or jump higher than the other guy." I see nothing wrong with that but as I said, you can't judge zip on the ball throwing passes like that. And as you said, he is "shifty and quick" and also he is a pass first guy like Jennings. Of course, many say Jennings is too hesitant to run...I don't see that issue with McMillan.

Touch the field next year? What are you smoking? Have you seen Brandon Harris? He redshirts unless he just can't due do to depth.

McMillan is a lot better than his 3* rating.

I like this guy. I've said it when he committed he's raw as heck but is quite an athlete and could make a quality QB

I was talking mop up or worst case scenario. Harris has a lot to prove as well. No guy on the roster has this thing locked up.

Just looked at the pics of McMillan in the thread and the first thing that jumped out at me was, as another poster said, the size of his hands. I was immediately reminded of Russell Wilson- less than ideal QB height, elusive, good intangibles, huge hands

That number 16 for Cedar Hill looks pretty good.

Does McMillan give us any edge on Lodge? Haven't heard much about him lately.

I doubt LSU has much of a chance with Lodge. He will end up at more of a pass-oriented team. I love Lodge's athletic ability...vertical leap, agility, good speed, and he returns punts also. I must say those drops in the 2nd half of the Cedar Hill vs Southlake Carroll game concerns me about him. Those were not hard catches either. And of course we all know on HUDL highlights, they wouldn't show the drops would they?

This. For people who want to hold the coronation for Brandon Harris, might I suggest reviewing his hideous performance in the Auburn game against what has turned out to be a porous Auburn defense. Plus, if someone wants a more recent bad look, go to the Kentucky game where Diarse should have had a TD behind the CB but for some reason Harris threw the ball yards inside for the KY safety to come over and pick off. I think accuracy is a very legitimate question about King Brandon. I suggest an open QB competition between Jennings, Harris, and McMillan in the spring. As many of us have said, McMillan is horribly underrated.

I would like to see more of his ability to throw short and mid range passes. slants, curls, crossing, screens etc. Right now, Jennings can make the same tape. zone read with a deep ball.

His throwing motion has a wind up like tebow had. better protect him or the backside d/e could strip the ball.

I do like his decision making, I like how he will look off a db. I like his ability to run. If the above can be confirme, the kid can be a really good college qb like blake sims or dak p.

Great post! I said essentially the same thing once. The reason is you can tell about a guy's arm a lot more of those quick passes by the zip they put on the ball. I know McMillan can throw the ball 55 to 60 yards but to be fair, those are the "punt type" passes. I'm not as concerned about his throwing motion as you are...see previous sentence.

I think we would all agree that the current LSU QBs have holes in their game as I'm sure McMillan does also. Time for Cameron to start "bandaiding" some of these, and I for one will put up the first Curad.

Jzz Ferguson and some of the other recievers at summer camp said that he threw the best ball out of amy of the qbs there. That included Shea patterson and Frank's (both 5 stars). They worked him out hard and he shined.

Kid can't help the offense they run there..

After reading the reports on the board, Harris may transfer. ;)

Hopefully McMillan will develop like Prescott at Ms State.
