keakdasneaak- This is as simple as I can put it. There were 3 recruits that recruits HEAVILY for LSU. Brandon Harris, Ed Paris, and Davon. While Brandon and Ed takes to social media, Davon personality is not the same as those guys. But make NO MISTAKE about it, he has been in the ear of recruits since day one and STILL IS.

He has been afforded an oppurtunity that will NEVER come again. And if you don't think Coach Miles is well aware of his intentions then I don't know what else to tell all the sky is falling people on here. The kids that has come thru my program over here is taught from day one the meaning of integrity, loyalty, and honesty.

Look I respect you for defending him. And I don't begrudge him doing whatever he wants. But I think my points are pretty rational and nowhere near "sky is falling."

The problem with this is it lacks many additional details.

1. LSU has a scholarship limit.

Not his problem and all colleges face this issue. Yes, recruits should and do take this into consideration and that is a risk to take. The outcome of taking that risk is his to make and his choice.

quote:

2. Godchaux suffered a serious injury and LSU stuck by him.

Very kind of LSU to do but it doesn't require him or bind him to LSU. I'm sure he appreciates LSU standing by him during that time and is being taken into consideration and is heavily factored into his decision.

quote:

3. During this recruiting cycle apparently several kids have blatantly lied to LSU coaches about their intentions. Thus LSU coaches would be wise to consider a player still taking visits as uncommitted.

Kids will act like kids. It's a fact of life and those who lied, that's the problem of those kids. The issues caused by some kids due to their immaturity is not a reflection or truth for all recruits. It's a blanket assertion on the whole based on individual and independent events. Also, sometimes people read way much into actions and events. It's hard not to when it's human nature to try to determine the cause or reason behind an action in order to come to closure but sometimes things are exactly how they appear and are not always a conspiracy theory.

quote:

4. Godchaux plays a position that is a desperate need in this class and it's getting late in the process to be sure that need is filled.

Yes , LSU needs WR's and it's a position of need but that is LSU's problem, not his. I want him at LSU just as much as the next guy but our needs are not his problem only his advantage.

quote:

Looking at it while considering these added factors it's easy to say that he may not be making the best decision by taking the visit. It also shows that the situation is not as simple the picture your post paints.

Nothing in recruiting or life is as easy as black and white and I get this but to simply assume because someone wants to get the most out a situation that they will never experience again as being due to he same antics others pulled others as being the same reason for a different and separate individual is absurd and unfounded logic.

Not trying to be a negatiger or anything but I just don't see the issue of letting him enjoy the recruiting process that he will never experience again. If it's meant to be it will be. If not, it's not. Let the kid enjoy this time for better or worse. His decision and actions are his alone and the outcome caused by his actions and his decisions will be something that he will have to live with. Sure it will also be something LSU will have to live but it's not like LSU hasn't dealt with situations like this before. We have and so have other colleges and just like prior situations like this, LSU will carry on and keep on churning with or without him.

Any truth to the rumor that he tried to commit to A&M at one point?

Just curious if anyone knows the real situation with Godchaux? Is he just having fun, or is he seriously reconsidering his recruitment?

Doom- No the Aggies were NEVER a player for Davon. Before LSU offered Fla. St. was a favorite. He NEVER tried to commit to ANYONE besides the Tigers. Hell we joked about his visit with Saban. And believe me Saban tried to sell him on the money part of making it, he really didnt know Davon that well to know money is not his motivation.

That is the difference between him and Coach Miles.

just to be clear, so some that come after you don't get the wrong idea...

A) he has not committed to another school
B) he is still considered committed to LSU

Unless you are saying he he had ulterior motives when he made the statements he made, then he certainly is not committed to LSU.

If those kids don't want to be LSU then let them go. Better to have kids that want to be in Baton Rouge then a bunch of Sam Montgomery type kids who takes plays off and drag arse because they are not happy with the college they chose.

Do you think he's doing this to garner interest from other schools so he can recruit Dupre/Young to LSU?

Word around town is that he wants to go out of state... Heard it from some guys he plays football with at the gym. He was disappointed with all the other kids he wanted to play with going OOS also.

Remain calm dude, just jokes, I do have a serious question to the people here that know Devon. Wasn't LSU a little late with an offer, and before the injury wasn't he a little perturbed with that lateness?
