The greatness of Northeast Louisiana coaching no doubt!

Glad he is on board. This is going to be a special class.

That's crazy they had him at WR and he took it to the crib. Welcome aboard Patterson! You're making Dandy proud.

I like it. I agree with what most people are saying, but I feel like I can't get a good read on him from those highlights. He makes these plays that would usually have me freaking out about a DE, like playing TE at his size and scoring touchdowns, but it seemed so easy that either he's very under the radar or his competition is bunk.

Either way, with the big names still on our DLine board, if the staff considers him a take, that's good enough for me.

EDIT: if I had to guess, he seems like a project in the weight room

very raw

I disagree. Looking at his video, I was very impressed with how he was in correct position, whether defending run or rushing QB. He appears to play very disciplined, pursues the ball, and is well coached.

I think he ought to get a look at TE as well- good hands.

Yeah the exact opposite of raw in imho. He looked like a very heads up smart football player. Hope that doesn't translate into a guy that gets out muscled at the major college level when you go up against guys that are equally good and big and football smart.

Bigger need at DE this year especially with a bunch of nice options at TE in the state plus the possiblity of Huerman. No need to put such a good DE talent at TE. I think 2 of Smith, Huerman, Dobard, Skinner and Bridgewater can hold down TE in this class. The following year has the stud kid (Washington I think his name is but don't hold me to it) and John Thomas will likely be rerecruited then as well. I think TE is fine.

That dude doesn't look 6'4" 230, more like 6'2" 210. Is that verified?

6'3-6'4 225-230 is what Sonny or Mike have said. He's listed in that area everywhere as well. Sonny said tonight he can easily see him at 250 once out of hs and away from playing multiple sports and concentrating on football weight only.

Sonny also said Tim Williams is only about 215 and he's listed bigger than that everywhere so I don't know. I usually just take Sonny's word and go with it. He and Coppage see these kids in person so I'd guess they'd be close to accurate.
