Yes beckwith is a DE but wants to be a LBer so our offer is at LB to compete with Bama. But with his speed or lack thereof for the position, I see him moving down to DE at some point

Did we watch the same video?

He may not be Mingo with the speed, but who is?

I agree

Dude looks pretty dang fast for a DE. Mingo's speed has spoiled everyone.

was sold after the first 2 clips from the 247 video...then he plays WR

a very good pickup for this class since it will be heavy on DL

i like him a lot after watching the film.

I mean if we are going to take at the very least 3 DE and most likely 4 - 5 then he is a guy you take a chance on.

You can still get:

Prevot
Williams
Beckwith

That is a solid haul and if you luck out and get RN then its an incredible haul.

Keep in mind that one of those guys is very likely to see the field as a freshman.

Tim Williams & Christian Lacouture are my my "ideal WDEs". I hope this dont hurt our changes with both guys

He looks athletic enough to play DE, OLB, or TE.

Looks like an OLB to me. I think he is more athletic than physical and could play TE or OLB.

DE all the way so much better with his hand on the ground than standing up. He could play TE but it would be a waste with the superb instate TE class this year.

Going to be a tough position to get PT. LSU will continue to recruit quality DE. I think this guy is fairly fluid and could translate to another position if needed.

Patterson is a great pickup. Tons of potential. He also projects down the line to be more of a SDE in our system. Great frame at 6'4 225-230 right now and will likely be around 260+ in a couple of years. Attribute him as the SDE in the class. Williams and Prevot are WDEs though Williams could get big enough to play SDE as well. Williams played very well in the Dome last year and Barton Simmons was very impressed and called him as being a guy that would sneak up and grab an offer from LSU.

Don't know if anyone caught it as I just did myself. The Dome reference should be Patterson and not Williams.

Lacouture is a DT for us. He'll be 295-300 easy under Moffit. According to Sonny he is a big want and obvious take for the staff. If he attends Saturday, keep an eye out for a commit.
