Is Chris Allen not projected as a pass rusher?

Everything I've seen indicated he can play in middle or on edge. Which is great. Depending on the other LBs we pull, you can place him where needed.
That may be what they can sell him on.

According to Tim watts it was Alabama's l decision to move his visit trip next weekend so he could be apart of the recruiting weekend

Yeah I don't buy that. I think he's trying to rationalize this. What would be better? Having basically one on one time all weekend (like he would have had this weekend at Bama) or a weekend with tons of other recruits? I see some positives for having him around guys but if I'm trying to close this out and have him shut down things, I'm getting him there this weekend. I'm not delaying this further.

For LSU, Coach O didn't want him going to Bama this weekend in fear that Allen would indeed shut things down. So credit Coach O for not letting that happen. Now he needs to work his magic.

I agree. I'm not so sure the previous staff would have even tried at this point.

I have to agree. And no way saban wants him in Baton Rouge this weekend with the group o has lined up. Saban doesn't take risks like this.

Coach O doing work. I wonder if the Jarvis Landry letter to the players tribune was a factor too.

Stay at home young man. You will have a great opportunity at LSU. Remember, Saban had success at LSU in large part, because in state talent (Clayton, Spears, Hill, Whitworth, Niswanger, Williams, etc) stayed home. How many guys get the chance to compete at the highest level in their hometown? LSU!

Sounds like a courtesy visit. I don't understand how a kid all of the sudden would seriously flip on Alabama after being committed this long. If he loved LSU it would have never been a question.

The only reason I think Saban would actively support such a decision is if he felt there was a possibility that O was making up ground, had an in-home coming up, and felt an Allen official visit to LSU was inevitable. This would still give him the final visit. I could see him playing chess like that.

Just the fact that O has us back in the game with a puncher's chance gives me a little more confidence in him running recruiting as a head coach. He has to be the big time closer, and he now has the opportunity to close on severa big prospects down the stretch.

I think it's a bit more than that. How much more remains to be seen. However, if it were purely a courtesy, it would have already been scheduled and he wouldn't have moved a Bama visit this close to when it was happening to fit it in.

Stability was a big negative recruiting issue for us up until after the bowl game. We had the O hire, which drew plenty of comments. We had to publicly lock down Dave Aranda. There were questions about whether Raymond would move on. Peveto was let go. It took a while for all of that to shake out.

However, now that the dust has settled, and our D went out and put on a show against Louisville, what have we seen? We've seen several good to great LB prospects respond to our staff's overtures. Allen himself went from saying he would rather ride the bench at Bama and be developed than come here and start, but had a COMPLETELY different story about being intrigued with the possibility of early playing time at LSU in interviews at the UA game. What changed? Stability. With stability comes confidence. These new guys on the board and Allen have seen enough proof over the last month that LSU's defense isn't falling off of a cliff with O at the helm, and that there is good opportunity here.

He committed to Alabama on 11/27/2016. Less than two months ago.

Everything about Moses' visit felt pre-planned and contrived. He even went to the lengths of messing with his Twitter posts to amp up the drama. He was going to Bama. He knew it. That was all for show, and all for him.

That's what people get for following a kids twitter. They have the ability to try to troll the hell out of fan bases without any repercussions. Crazy how many people fall for these Twitter accounts hook, line, and sinker.

Why would a smart player go to Alabama when he can be coached by Aranda in his backyard?

Like I've said before, pull a Saban and hire his high school coach and lock this up! We need this kid!
