...and if he doesn't, I can't wait to see posters whining that O isn't the recruiter he claims to be and LSU didn't do enough to "close the fence."

I think LSU is doing as much as they possibly can to get this kid to flip.

I'd take him, but after watching his state championship and Under Armour game , I'd easily take Phillips over him if I had to choose.

So is this a legit we gained ground with Allen visit, or a counter recruiting visit?

I don't know the kid, or follow recruiting too well, just asking for some of your honest opinions here.

I think O was able to convince him to come to LSU this weekend and hang out with hopefully all his future teammates. They will work him hard through the weekend and try to flip him and shut his recruitment down. If he leaves without commiting and visits Bama next weekend I think our chances are slim to none

But yes we obviously gained ground on Bama here. Now just gotta overtake em

Good timing, but it sounds like Bama will still get their chance to keep him...

Credit to CEO and staff for working hard IRT Allen. Hate to see him leave the state, and especially for that location....

Gotta convince him early PT, Aranda, etc is BETTER than sitting and be 'developed' down the line by Saban and co... (their incoming list at LB and current roster is deep with LB talent)

Good luck CEO and DA, keep him home!

Well just getting him here is a step in the right direction. He very well could have shut things down had he gone to Bama this weekend. We're still behind in my personal opinion. And Bama still gets him last, so that's not great.

Damnit, too slow.

"...counter recruiting visit?"

I doubt it would be intentional, but if he visits and gives prognosticators reason to believe he might sign with LSU, then it might well have an adverse effect on the other LBs who are considering LSU. Remember, Willie Gay, for example, was very interested when he heard that there would be a clear path to the playing field.

Everything about Moses' visit felt pre-planned and contrived. He even went to the lengths of messing with his Twitter posts to amp up the drama. He was going to Bama. He knew it. That was all for show, and all for him.

Allen, on the other hand, hasn't been a drama queen through the process. He had the one comment about preferring to ride the bench at Bama, but he backtracked off of that during the UA practices, and other than that statement, his public comments have been pretty measured. There is no guarantee that the staff gets him to flip, but he doesn't strike me as another Hootie. I think O talked his way into a visit during his in-home, and got us one last shot.

True. But our people are saying differently.
So now take a step back and think about what actually makes sense....
Lil Nicky woke up yesterday and said " Hey I think Ill have Chris Allen come in the following weekend with everyone else" , when Allen had no other visits scheduled the whole time....
Oh and coincidentally Orgeron just happened to be with Allen literally ALL DAY when this "Bama" decision was made...???????? Dont think so
