I can't wait a year from now and hear all of the stories of how these players progressed.

Particularly the opportunity for early playing time at this position.

Well thats just a joy that you get from following recruiting.

Makes this guy smile

We have 3 other guys committed to play LB other than Louis. We have strong interest from David Perkins. Chavis is going after Devall to play MLB and it looks like A&M is out of the running. Staff is still waiting on Lorenzo Phillips to make his move and they just offered Deion Jones. Louis to RB seems fine to me.

Its much easier to have 5-6 really good linebakers and play than it is the have 7 or 8 good RBs and play

Luke Sanders was a freak. And one of lsu's worst starting LBs to play the last 30 years

You need to get over that one. I think you wake up in cold sweats at night thinking about him.

If we include Louis as a LB then we now have 5 linebackers committed counting Deion Jones' recent commitment. If we get both Devall and Perkins, that would make 7 for this class. At least 2-3 guys will not play LB if we get everyone we want.

He looks to be an outsider backer. Not sure which side.

Randle fits at Ryan Baker's spot. Baker is bigger at this point obviously but it's amazing how similar they are in athleticism, speed and style of play. Expect Randle to play a good bit next year and be a beast on special teams(again very similar to Baker)

Assuming we land the guys we want that are considered Lbs.

Davis-DE
Louis-LB inside or outside depending on coaches preference
Granier-MLB
Feist-OLB
Jones-OLB I think but do think he could play inside if we wnated him to once he bulks up
Phillips-OLB
Devall-MLB
If we miss on Phillips or Devall and want him
Perkins-OLB but could play rb first.
7 guys that could play LB and likely at least 6 do. That's a lot in any case but especially for us with all the young guys we have. Bound to be a couple of transfers down the line or some guys moving around. If we were to land 7 of those kids the coaches should be praised for convincing that many kids to play similar positions and with similar skillsets. It helps that all but Perkins are instate but still that would be one hell of a recruiting job. Also the kids should be commended for not being afraid to compete with one another. Those reasons are why I think we only land and take 1 more guy between Phillips,Devall and Perkins.

6 guys all in the same class to play LB? That's a crazy logjam. We assume Randle and one out of Muncie/Welter to land 2 of the starting jobs and we expect one of the guys from this LB class to get an early start after Tahj Jones/Kevin Minter leaves. You will still see 5 guys playing as depth and this is assuming we take no LB's in the next class. Something's gotta give. If we land 7 guys we like, I see Davis to DE and Louis/Perkins to RB.

Nope, he was pretty much non-existent. Tyren Alexander, their other linebacker was the one making the plays. I was surprised at how small Louis is 5'11" AT BEST.
