if he comes to LSU does he have a better chance of joing our super deep stable of RBs or does he have a better chance of playing his other position at LB (seeing that he is 5'11"- 6'ft 220 according to rivals and runs around a 4.4-4.5 40 yd dash) in my opinion 5'11"-6'ft is almost two short to play LB in the SEC but he would fit great with our RBs (big back with good speed) but if for some reason they put Davante Bourque at RB in stead of WR that would give LSU 8 RBs for next year (ware, ford, blue, hilliard, magee, gore, louis, and bourque) and even though we do a good job of rotating backs in and out i think thats too many RB to try to get in there and were not using our Atheletes to our advantage

just want to know what ever one else thinks or if someone knows some inside knowledge of where louis and bourque might play

Louis is the perfect LBer for todays game. He is so fast and quick, with RB skills yes, and that makes him so dangerous at LBer. Which is what sets him apart and why I think he's one of the top 3 in the country and very underrated. He shut down one of the top RBs in the nation at the Nike camp in Oregon. His skill set is just too good at LBer

there's always a red shirt if he wants to put on some weight, learn the system, etc...not sure how good the kid is but that's probably his best bet.

He's like 220 now. By fall I bet he's 225-230, I bet he takes Bakers role sooner than you think

It's funny you asked that. I had a chat tonight with someone who is very very close to Lamar, and he is a former tiger. Whoever just said, Lamar will take Bakers spot sooner than you think hit the nail right on the head.

Chavis wants Lamar in the middle..........bad.

Dude has a 38inch vertical and ran a 4 (a freaking 4!) in the shuttle. We've not had a LBer like him. Its just a freakishly great year for LBers in the state in general and he's the top of the group imo

LSU's future at LB appears to be very bright with this class coming in.

Along with Randle last year. It should give LSU plenty of talent at the LB position.

You can be below six feet tall and excel at LB. Sam Mills, London Fletcher, Dat Nguyen, Dexter Coakley are some guys who played LB well in the NFL. If you have strength, athletic ability, quickness, instincts, smarts, toughness, technique, etc, you can be effective, even if you're not above six feet tall.

Yeah I am think that LL plays LB and Davante plays WR. If either one ends up playing RB their second year at LSU I am putting my money on it being Davante!

Luke Sanders was a freak. And one of lsu's worst starting LBs to play the last 30 years

Just don't see it.

I see Minter, Jones, Barrow, Randle, Muncie and either Louis or another freshman coming in being the Top 6 guys.

You do realize that some starting LB's in the SEC, around the rest of the country, and even in the pros are around 6ft tall. Ryan Baker is. Danny Travathan is 6'1 232 and he's led the SEC in tackles the last two years, by a wide margin. Jo-Lonn Dunbar is the 6'0 226 and he's doing pretty well for the Saints. The team is stacked with great RB's. Lamar could be a big boost to the LB core, he's also the prototypical LB that Chavis likes, speed, speed, and more speed.
