Maybe it is roid rage

People have their beliefs and reasons for advocating them. As you can see in this thread, a lot of the people are condescending to the other viewpoints because they think they are right and others are wrong.

A lot of the opinions on this board are based off the physical measureables. I would say that the regulars here make it a pretty solid fitness board, an ok health board. To expect a good health board anywhere is not very wise because we have shoddy lobbyist backed science. As stout said, it's a lot like the poli board. You will find good health information, but you have to look through it all to find out who is most correct.

The same thing that happens to most good things, unhappy miserable a-holes want to come piss all over it. People don't want to be tolerate of diversity, they just want to ridicule everything that doesn't align with their beliefs, even some of the best posters get caught up in bashing other people's ideas/opinions. It sucks, but predictable unfortunately. I say do your part to keep the board positive and relevant.

What happened was with nutrition certain groups can't accept their ideology isn't the perfect way and that their is more than one way to skin a cat.

I'm pretty much going to just start a how to get huge nutrition thread and let people who want to get swole bounce ideas off one another so we can talk nutrition without getting preached at that we aren't doing it right because we ate an apple and didn't chase it with piss.

Owe and i appreciate the compliment above, but never take my word as gospel, use it as a piece of the puzzle YOU are building based on what you like.

I would love to post more on this board as well but the constant bickering is annoying.

Different strokes for different folks doesnt fly with the diet maniacs here

I would love to post more about weight loss. Trying to lose weight and have struggles. However...I don't want to get keto'd to death on this board.

I'll click on a weight loss thread for motivation...then quickly just go to another board once the keto cultists start their rants.

I dropped 75 lbs 3 years ago the good old fashion way. I just burned more calories than I ate, and consistently excersised. People need to understand that at it's core, weight loss is a math equation...some people solve that equation different ways, and that's perfectly fine.

It's just like 2 posters. It isn't "the board".

We can just ignore them.

For you and Azazello, you should post more. There are a few people who are keto disciples and will tell you anything but keto is wrong.

The vast majority of people are more open to different approaches. I gained 40 pounds in law school and had to lose it. I respect anyone making a commitment to their own health and well being.

For the people in this thread who've lost a lot, good for you. You generate a ton of positive change by that and make a huge difference in your own lives and your family's lives.

Thanks I may. I’ve gained weight and I hate it. My life is really stressful right now and as someone that stress eats....not good. So hard to focus on weight loss while trying to put out several other fires in my life.

I just don’t want to be bullied about keto. I will never do keto. I know I would never be able to sustain it and have no desire to. I want to make a lifestyle change if I can. Something where the weight will stay off if I actually eat more than 20g of carbs a day.

That would be best but that isn't what happens as this thread shows. People come in saying they are noble and don't want to argue while simultaneously saying the other side is wrong and the problem. Constantly making snide remarks, etc. Just look at the recent Weight Loss Advice thread for prime examples.

If you look at the science and come to the conclusion that ketosis is best it only leaves two diets, glucose based and ketone based. If there were a bunch of different ketosis diets then you can imagine there would be niche groups like with glucose based diets. Hopefully the glucose believers will understand why they have become anti-ketosis zealots.

Nothing really happened. This board is a microcosm of today's health market. We've always had some disagreements even on putdowndafork V.1. Some are here seeking general health, some looking to lose weight, some to gain muscle, some to gain nutritional thoughts. These subject can have completely different journeys and outcomes. All of us have different opinions on these matters.

Now, with all that said - I typically stay out of weightlifting and muscle gain threads because that isn't my wheelhouse. What I don't appreciate is being called names by some here when they offer nothing on the subject. Just name calling with zero contribution. I can appreciate a good discussion on matters, but name-calling is only a distraction that sidetracks the thread. If you don't like what I have to say - refute it with something, don't just call me a "keto zealot" or "ketard" - which itself is ridiculous as I've even moved on from promoting it, I just accept that it can be easier than carnivore. What I also hate is bad science or science taken out of context.

I highly doubt we will ever have a koombya board. A respectful disagreement can be healthy as lsu777 and I have been back and forth for years now.

This is what happened to this board.

People so wedded to philosophy can't even acknowledge great changes someone made and recognize that real results show the actual validity of methods that differ from their pet methods.

OleWarSkuleAlum is also the guy who was hard selling a select few AltCoins around January on the money board only to have disappeared and emerge on this board.
