Great thread. I've been looking into to IF but didn't really know where to get started. Would you mind setting me up too? I'm 160 and not really looking to bulk up or anything. Just want to get and look healthy. My BF is around 18%. Any help would be appreciated.

And sorry to hear about your loss. Thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

Hey man appreciate the kind words. Honestly you should look on the google drive i linked in my first post and look at the kinobody aggressive fat loss program. It lays everything out really easy. Do that until you reach 10-12%bf and then do the Greek god program and slowly add some muscle.

seriously just take the calories he recommends for you and the macros and plug them into myfitnesspal and then weigh and log everything and follow the simple workouts.

goal should be to lose about 1.5-2 lbs a week and making sure your waist is getting smaller. Make sure you track the measurements I talked about earlier.

LSU777: I'm still at it. No issues w hunger pangs at 16 hours for last few days. Frankly, though, I'm finding it hard to eat all the calories/macros I think I need. I eat a big meal and protein shake to break fast about noon, and just don't have much of an appetite later in evening before shutting it down at 8:00.

I'm 6'4" 232#, did endurance/triathlon training 5-6 days a week for last several years. Am backing down on that and lifting 3 days a week now, heavy 5x5 type workouts. Haven't lost or gained a pound or an inch in a month w lower carb, and now IF. I do have a big build and am not a fatass, despite heavy weight.

And I'm 49 years old. Any thoughts? Thanks again for your time and info.

Please elaborate on why your nutritionist thinks it is crap and why you actually need a nutritionist to "coach" you.

Of course people do, including myself. It should be no shock or mystery we as human beings aren't meant to eat on schedule just because "it's lunch" or its "8am".

Work- hunting
Working out- killing of prey
Window of eating- self explanatory
Sleep

This might be OK for out of shape people and those new or returning to fitness, and extreme weight loss needs. Who knows. and that dude was totally trolling you at the beginning of the thread Different goals for different folks I guess.

2 weeks in and I'm down 4 pounds too. I have a lot more energy in the mornings now. Used to take me awhile to get going, but about 3 days in, I noticed my energy level had increased.

I can already tell a difference in how my pants fit. Anxious to start seeing results with the belly fat. Not a lot there, but it is stubborn.

I was doing IF for 6 mos and my company offered wellness coaching for a variety of different areas. One is nutrition. There was no cost so I signed up.

So I told my dietician about the IF and he asked my why I was doing it. I told him it was to try to stoke my metabolism.

He told me to start eating breakfast again and that it would help my metabolism just fine.

So I have been eating breakfast regularly now, and I'm happy with eating breakfast that with skipping it.

And if you think about it, we already IF during our 8 hours of sleep at night.

Man, thanks for this thread and all the info. I'm loving IF. I have a question. My work schedule is chaotic most of the time, so I can't workout at the same time every week. Sometimes I workout fasted and sometimes not. Is that OK? And let's say one morning I get my workout in at 8 but I'm not supposed to break my fast till noon. Is it OK to no eat that long after?

Anyone stick to IF? Made it a lifestyle rather then a diet? I’m interested in hearing longterm results

I’ve been doing 16/8 for about 6 weeks with some promising results. Down 10lbs, lost 1” in the waist.

My strategy has been to eat my last meal at 7 or 8 pm, skip breakfast and eat my first meal at 11 or 12. Surpringly, I’ve noticed that I’m less hungry now throughout the day.. snack cravings have disappeared and I’m more productive in the mornings.

This has been my experience as well. More energy, much earlier.
