Cutting Calories and Constantly Thirsty

Starting on the 1st, I began cutting my calorie intake to about 1200-1500 calories/day and have lost 6 lbs (218 to 212). I have had 6 bottles of water today and still just really thirsty, while peeing every 30 mins and it’s very clear.
Any reason or cause for this? I feel full but also thirsty

Same happens to me. You're shedding water weight. You need to make sure your electrolytes (potassium, sodium, and magnesium) are optimized.
Why are you cutting so drastically?

Metabolism is going to hit the brakes cutting that low.

You need electrolytes not just plain water. Look at Redmonds Relyte. Add it to your water.

Because I have no idea what I’m doing and I’m tired of being so overweight so my fitness pal recommended 1800 calories a day

This is so stupid. It’s all water weight anyway. Congrats on losing 15 lbs in two weeks completely burning out on your diet and gorging yourself to gain back 20 lbs in a month.

Go get a bunch of diet sodas. It will help you lose weight more than just drinking water.

Maintaining weight is weird. I’m averaging over 11,000-12,000 steps a day. I count all calories. To maintain, not to lose, it has me at 2960 calories per day. If I do this amount I’m losing weight pretty much weekly.
If I go 3300-3500 calories I’m adding weight. Maybe the exact number is 3,000-3,100? But it just seems odd to not be able to keep the same weight daily without fluctuating.

No shame in that brother. You'll figure out where you need to be. Is it possible to maintain 1200-1500 calories every single day for months? Years? Probably not. While you may lose the weight you were wanting to lose, you'll probably be miserable during the process and will gain it back as soon as you start eating more.
As others have said, my first thoughts were electrolytes. Also, maybe ease into lifestyle changes and not be so drastic.

OP
I was you at one point. I can’t recommend this book enough. The author does a great job of dumbing things down and explains everything associated with nutrition and diet.
Also don’t cut your deficit too low. It’s not sustainable
Not a diet book

Try weighing like once or twice a week. Mine will fluctuate a few pounds either way day to day, but long term I stay within a range. I was 180 around Christmas, I was down to 177 a couple days later, back up to 182 by New Year's, and I was 176 this morning. From low to high it is 6 lbs, but averaged out I'm around 178-180. I'd like to lose about 5-10 lbs but I'm not sweating it

I did this. It works but only for weight loss.
Your metabolism crashes, you lose all muscle causing you to be skinny fat, and when you stop you add weight back like crazy, mostly fat. Your body thinks it starving so it will hold on to fat cells that you’re wanting to get rid of.
Eat small meals or snacks throughout the day instead. Keep *daily calories in a 500-700 deficit, lots of protein.
For your body to maintain the water you drink it needs to be drank very slowly over time or you can add something like Liquid IV from Walgreens. Otherwise you’ll just pee out the water you drink. When your pee is clear, that’s your body telling you it’s hydrated and will pee out excess water from then on out.

If you cut out anything with added sugar you can pretty much eat all you want and still lose weight if you are currently overweight. That would be much more doable than 1200 calories.

That does seem like a really low amount of calories. When you really start counting macros it is mind blowing all the wrong crap you have done over the years. When you increase calories and carbs by so much and you think there is no way it will work and it does. I am cutting now for a beach trip in a month and it seems really odd to be at 2300 calories and almost 200 carbs a day and to be slowly and steadily dropping weight. I know 1500 you can drop some quick but seems low.

Congrats on your weight loss so far. I agree with the others, 1200-1500 is doable, but not for extended periods of time. 1800 is probably the bare minimum you want to go for consistent weight loss while maintaining healthy body mass.
One thing I don't think that was touched on is the body has the same response to being hungry as it does to being thirsty. You're probably thirsty all the time because your body is telling you that you are hungry.

Agreed. Which is why a lot of times a bottle of water will satisfy hunger.
