Walking 8,000 to 15,000 steps a day
Keto if you don't have liver issues, or just cut sugar and carbs if your walking a lot.
Try not to eat past 4 or 5 pm.

Counting calories and walking or some other cardio (running, biking rowing, etc.) is the way to go. One thing to remember, you didn't get there by not eating, so for a while you are gonna be hungry. At least that was my experience.

I dropped a bit and kept it off for a while. The pitfall to keeping it off is lifestyle/work changes that mess up your routine.

I flattened it out and lost 60 pounds by doing three things. Allow yourself to eat what you want but eat less of the bad food and choose the right foods often.

Exercise: 30 minutes of cardio

Eat Right: Limit your gluten, don’t go cold turkey on carbs just the carbs that come with gluten, sadly beer has gluten. Eat meat and veggies, eggs or beans.

Cut Sugar: Fat in foods is not the enemy but it’s not your friend either. Sugar is your enemy. I have a small dessert - frozen fudge or fruit bar; a couple of cookies; a small piece of cake or pie - when I find it it irresistible. You must cut your sugar, sadly most alcohol has sugar.

Good classic upbeat music when you walk. Even cheap wired earbuds are better than nothing. This was the only thing that kept me at it and increase distance. Took me 3 months just to lose a few pounds from walking alone (well... more protein, way less sugar, and caffeine )

The bad news: doing it this way will make the gut go down, but the rest of you gets skinnier without working out. Great if you're fat all over, but I had just the gut. Also, walking is easier but time-consuming.

Cut out the bread and bedtime snack; if you have to eat bread, eat in the morning as you will burn it throughout the day. If you crave bread foods ; pasta pizza, burger then pick one cheat day like a Sunday.

I went from 230 to 202 in six weeks doing the above.

maybe if he's a fat woman who doesn't want to lose weight

elevated heart rate 15 minutes a day. alternate between jogging and walking but maintaining elevated heart rate

but cutting back on calories is by far the biggest step. not exercising to slim.

I didn't lose much muscle mass because I still did all the things I always did just added about 45 minutes of walking and cut back on the sweets, replaced snacks with things like carrots that had more bulk and fewer calories overall.

Just counting calories will usually direct you toward better choices. If you throw in watching carbs, even more so. You figure out what helps you stay feeling full and it is never those things you should avoid anyway.

You should probably add in working out too, especially if you don't do much physical activity. It's probably what I should do now as I am aging and less active in general.

Eat less

More more.

Stress less. Abdominal fat is linked to stress hormones.

Eliminate alcohol and sodas from your diet completely

I eliminated sodas from my diet a long time ago. I mostly drink water with meals. I do have a Dr Pepper on occasion. Maybe once a week.

Alcohol, on the other hand, I was drinking daily. We always at least have wine in the house and I’d drink a glass or two (or sometimes three) every night. Not including beer and bourbon on occasion. Now I’m not an all or nothing type of guy, so I wasn’t going to quit completely. But a few weeks ago I decided I need to limit my alcohol consumption to weekends only. And also making sure not to get shitfaced just because I didn’t have a drink all week and need to make up for it.

It’s amazing how much better I feel the in just a few short weeks of limiting my alcohol consumption. If I keep it up I’m hoping my desire to have a drink will almost completely go away eventually.

I would encourage anyone to at the very least cut back on alcohol. I didn’t think I was really drinking much so I didn’t think it was a big deal. Until now. I’m less bloated, sleeping better, and I’ve dropped a couple of pounds already. And that’s even after all the holiday food.

Eat in a 8 hour window. You will lose. When you eat is more important that what you eat. Your liver secretes and enzyme every 12 hours after your first calorie of the day. Eat within that 12 hours to maintain weight. The smaller window you eat in the more you lose. Most people would lose tons of weight if they would just stop eating at 6 PM.

Also no freaking snacking, it spikes your insulin and moves calories to fat.

It all starts in your kitchen. Start by eliminating junk from your diet and replace it with protein, fruit, and veggies.

Get your diet under control before you move on to excercise. You can never out work a poor diet. Also, you're going to need to have consistent sleep habits. You should try to get 8 hours a day. Some people can, some people can't. 6.5-7 hours is all I sleep a day. Your body needs the rest to function properly.

If you need help then go to a dietician or do your own research.

Once your diet has been corrected then you can start the excercises. Decide if you want to go cardio or add muscle. Unless you're in your 60's, you could start lifting weights and add just as much muscle as you could in your teens and early 20's. Just takes consistent workouts. After 60, you can still add muscle, but not at the same rate. You don't have to train like a bodybuilder since you won't be one.

If you want to do cardio then figure out if you want to be a runner, cycle, row, etc. and then create a consistent workout routine..

If you don't know what to do then hire a personal trainer and learn or sign up for a cycling class or something. You can go it alone, but it is easier to build consistent routines if you workout with a partner, class, or someone that holds you accountable.

It's really not as hard as it seems, but it's a legitimate lifestyle change.
