Yes. Lock your abdominal and pelvic region so you aren't have a lot of arch in your lower back and press without using a lot of knee bend and hip flexion.

The press is the best

One that really helped define my shoulders was farmer carries. I love them and do them every time I work out. Works your grip and is a great shoulder workout

I separated my shoulder in high school and this was something they told me to do that I still like.
10 reps each so one set is 30 reps with dumbbells.
1st hands by your side raise the weight to shoulder height like your flapping wings. Then hands in front of you with the dumbbells touching and raise chest high straight in front of you. Lastly is 10 each arm for your rotator cuff. Hold your arms straight down your side then raise at the elbow to parrellel with the ground. Move the weight outward so your arm is in the shape of an L.

These are supposed to be low stress while strengthening the shoulder so easier than a press. Hope it helps.

No not rings, too much stability required.

Sarge band pull aparts and face pulls along with strict barbell press. But put an emphasis on the face pulls as your rear felt is prolly underdeveloped.

For muscle gains pre exhaust with side lat raise then strict over head press and end the workout with overhead walks with snatch grip.

hey I love the rings. Prolly the most used piece of equipment other than my barbell in my gym.

And eventually he should move to them. Just not at first.

Rear shoulder flyers on a single point suspension trainer is the best shoulder exercise period and only a tad better than on rings.
