Your Year In Gaming - Best of Edition - 2015

What a year!
I typically only play one or two games but I've been a bit busier this year.
I started finishing up on Dragon Age Inquisition. Loved it. In fact loved it so much I did a play through on each difficulty.
After seeing the trailer for a space game, I decided I needed to finally break down and play Mass Effect 1-3.
Wow! Yes, I even loved 3 since most of the flaws were fixed or alleviated after release. Heck, loved the experience so much, I played all 3 a second time. I did a better job of keeping people alive in 2 so 3 was almost completely different.
I tried Pillars of Eternity, but didn't like the micromanaging.
The Witcher 3. As good as I thought Dragon Age was, Witcher 3 was much better. I really liked dodging. Felt more like real combat and less button mashing.
I then tried Pillars again and by this point they added some AI scripting which made the game MUCH better. Really enjoyed it.
Wrapped up with Fallout 4 which I will continue playing into the new year. I will definitely spend the most time of any game with Fallout.
Not sure it will be my favorite of the year. While I love the heck out of it, it doesn't have the emotional impact of the Mass Effect series.
I would probably have to go with Mass Effect 2 for best gameplay and emotional content..... Mordinnnnnnnnnn!

Did you accomplish anything outside of gaming?

Crap. Game of the year stuff. Kind of said I'd take a shot at that...

Jack sure does wear skimpy clothing.

Loved Witcher III.
Dabbled back in D3 for a while, always good to hit up in a down spell for games.
Destiny expansion was fun for a month or so.
Ark is the most fun I've had in a game since D2 or WoW. Great game and can't wait to go back to it when it hits XBOne.
I'm in a minority, but was really underwhelmed with Fallout. Not enough to keep me enthused and too much inventory management.
Currently loving Battlefront.

Well, consider yourself noticed.

So far my favorite game I've played this year is bloodborne, though if I say which game has had the biggest impact on me: League of Legends. I actually got to play competitively with people on the GB, something I never expected to do before this year.

Hmmm. this year
Bastion
Bioshock Trilogy
Dishonored + DLC
Mass Effect Trilogy - first still my favorite Mass Effect)
Shadow of Mordor - pretty good, basically Lord of the Rings meets Assassin's Creed
Psychonauts
Shadowrun: Dragonfall
Skyborn
The Talos Principle
Tomb Raider
Transistor
Guild Wars 2 - only ~60 hours before I got bored and realized that the cool items would take real money or 1000 hours.
As you can see, I have a case of the poors and can't afford to upgrade my rig to play new games. (Witcher 3, Fallout 4)
So I'd say the best game I played this year was Bioshock Infinite.

Bloodborne, Pillars of Eternity, The Witcher 3 (my GOTY), MGSV, back to TW3 for the new DLC, and trying to work up the energy to get going in Fallout 4 (so many hours sunk into other long games and I'm a little burned out). I still haven't even played Sword Coast Legends yet. Too many games!
I'm leaving off a bunch of older games I fired up from time to time, but yeah it was a great year for gaming.

With having a baby in December and all the health problems we started with I obviously did not beat as many games as last year. I also started playing particular games more at length. I beat Infamous Second Son and The Order at the beginning of the year. I put 55+ hours into Inquisition but didn't finish it because I thought it just got boring. I played Persona 4 which took about 80 hours to beat Bloodborne sucked me in for month and I got the platinum on it. I played a good bit of Rocket League over the summer and messed around with some others. Once Taken King came out in September that took me over and hasn't stopped. I'm still getting into Fallout.

A) I might be getting with you soon to see if GOTY is something we want to do.
B) Bombcast has the entire crew this week. Vinny/Small Business Man is podcast money.

A) sure, it should be easier than last years disappointment
B) Looooooove the bombast GOTY podcasts. I hate that I basically turn it off for games I didn't finish. I couldn't listen to them talk about Inquisition last year. I won't be able to hear them talk about Witcher and probably Fallout this year.

I don't even remember my life before Bloodborne. I just remember waking up in a cold, dark room, dimly lit by a screen with a controller in my hand. I suddenly had an urge to hunt. So I did.
