re: GoT S6: E10 "The Winds of Winter" BOOK READERS - skirpnasty
They were sent out to guard Rhaegar when he went missing. R then ordered them to stay and watch his son while he rode off to the Trident. That's the only thing that makes sense. Your scenario is silly
This is not true. Whent and Dayne were with them from the time they snatched Ly...

re: GoT S6: E10 "The Winds of Winter" BOOK READERS - skirpnasty
They are loyal to the King, but they were with Rhaegar? And if your theory is correct, the Lord Commander Gerold Hightower and Ser Oswald Whent chose to abandon their vows because Arthur Dayne decided to break his for a woman? I could see if it were just Arthur Dayne there, but it was not. ...

re: GoT S6: E10 "The Winds of Winter" BOOK READERS - skirpnasty
Then why did the Daynes name their heir after Ned? Just a gee thanks for killing Arthur? Not buying it. R+L is too obvious and has too many holes. Even if we assume a contemplating, honorable, uber disciplined, and intelligent individual had a "Romeo and Juliet" full year, left his family, w...

re: GoT S6: E10 "The Winds of Winter" BOOK READERS - skirpnasty
Rhaegar planned to usurp his crazy arse father once the rebellion was put down. He all but said this to Jaime as he left to fight at the Trident. "Expect major changes upon my return..." or something to that affect. Those Kingsguard were loyal to Rhaegar, and I anticipate the others would ha...

re: GoT S6: E10 "The Winds of Winter" BOOK READERS - skirpnasty
No, this is not a better story. The Rhaegar-Lyanna-Robert story is perfect and needs no revisions. Plus there is no way it is AD's son. The King's guard was there guarding that tower, and they are only allowed to guard the King. That means the only reason they are there is that the...

re: GoT S6: E10 "The Winds of Winter" BOOK READERS - skirpnasty
I actually think A+L =J potentially makes for a better story. You can open up so many plot possibilities with that move. Jon potentially becomes SOTM and Dawn = Lightbringer. All the plot holes with Arthur being at the ToJ and super honorable Rhaegar's (in this case non existent) infidelity all ...

re: GoT S6: E10 "The Winds of Winter" BOOK READERS - skirpnasty
I still don't understand the thought behind the Tarly plot. "I'm going to r-u-n-n-o-f-t with the family sword, then go exactly where I told them I was going." ...

Yeah a lot of people died. I don't think the South or Dany's alliance has a single remaining capable commander in the show. ...
I don't think she said his name. I believe he's named after Jon Aryn, but who knows? I believe Ned actually named him. But, she said, "Don't let Robert find out or he'll kill him. You know that." - or words largely to that effect as the barely intelligible speech.
Her ...

re: Reasons Why SEC Baseball > SEC Football - skirpnasty
his entire post should be ignored considering he led off with a negative about football being "no offseason" and not realizing that baseball plays got damn near 200 games a year.
I enjoy that baseball is much more competitive, and I get tired of coverage about coaches in golf tou...

re: 2017 Mississippi State Football Recruiting Thread - skirpnasty
I honestly don't follow it enough to know any of their faces. I used to a lot more, but Mullen's best players seem to have been the ones nobody cared about and it just brings stress because I always get upset about guys like Quay Evans, Channing Ward, or Kalio Moore who seem to fall flat more often ...

re: Looking at Alabama's schedule - skirpnasty
Your Quarterbacks looked terrible in the spring game too
Not sure where I've mentioned QB's? But honestly they looked about how I expected, made a few mistakes but also made some really upside plays. Our QB spot is a 2 guy race. Tiano is going to be consistent and make good decis...

re: Looking at Alabama's schedule - skirpnasty
It doesn't matter how good they have it at WR TBH. Only one matters, just like the last decade. They are going to make their best playmaker at WR shine for 3 years and the rest are just foundational pieces. ...

re: Most overrated player in the SEC and why? - skirpnasty
Kelly is a system QB. OM, State, A&M will always find a way to make a QB play at their ceiling. That being said, I see no reason to say he's overrated for playing in a system that highlights him. He's doing a great job doing what he's supposed to do. ...

They need to rebalance the scheduling. Getting pretty tired of getting Bama late when they look like the 49ers and LSU/A&M early before their annual collapse. ...
