Anyone else even own a Wii U?

This is getting good early reviews. Any JRPG fans? I'd love to see an honest comparison between this and Fallout.

I own a Wii U as our only family console (for my 7 year old), and I'm finally getting into buying games that I actually want to play beyond Skylanders.

So far I've done ZombiU, which I like. I'm not sure I'd call the game "fun" per se, but it's interesting. I can only play it in short doses as it stresses me out and frustrates me.

I'm considering getting Arkham City or Mass Effect 3 next. I'm mainly only buying games that I can get below $20 on Amazon because I'm not really THAT into gaming.

This is probably outside what I'm willing to spend at this point, since it's a new release.

The difference in this game and fallout is that it's a little more strategy based. Not saying that F4 isn't, but it's a different brand altogether really. The stat application is different, the story is more straightforward and emcompassing.

My copy is on the way.

From everything I've read:
Technical beauty, just has a stupid amount of pop-in
Pretty meh story
A huge amount of content
Gameplay is largely same as Xenoblade
The mechs are a lot of fun

I've had this pre ordered for about two years now. Sadly I'm knee deep in finals and won't have much time to play until they're finished.

Apparently I missed this thread. I'm going to pull the trigger. I'll let you know how it is.

This game is part of the reason I bought the system two years ago.

But my gamepad broke a few months ago and its 175 bucks to fix it sooooooooo I'm debating whether its worth fixing for this game or not.

That sucks. You could just buy a pro controller for like 20bucks you know? It's supported by the game and a solid controller.

Also, this game is awesome and I'm not even a couple hours in yet. Definitely worth it.

I loved Xenoblade Chronicles so much that I'm seriously considering buying a Wii U just for this game. I just don't know if I can justify the expense.

I have absolutely no experience with this series at all. Lots of RPG experience though. Reviews and trailers have piqued my interest. Is the combat deep at all? Since it looks like the exploration/combat is the biggest part I wanna make sure it's super sound and fun, combat wise.

I'll probably get this game at some point. I've been a lot less interested when I heard the game was running in 720p. Is that still the case? If so, those "beautiful" graphics we've seen in the screenshot will be infested with blurry jaggies.

Same. I had no idea about the franchise.

Yes. 3 main classes (each splits into 2 subcategories) and each class has 2 major progressions that are basically mini classes, switchable whenever you want, all have differ perks and different weapons and different moves, and you unlock the moves and perks and buffs as you level that specific class. Then those moves have different effects and buffs based on combos, where you are in relation to the enemy, and what your teammates are doing.

You can also individually level up each of the perks, buffs, and moves you get through battle point experience earned in battle

Then there's automatic attacks and player triggered attacks.

The AI of your teammates will let you know when they initiated a combo, suggest when their buffs are on, and there is a battle menu for you to order them around.

You can target an enemy in general, or you can maneuver and specific target it's limbs or head or anything else.

And sometimes the appendage you target holds special items. For instance, to build one of the custom swords you need arms of a specific beast, so when you fight it, you have to break it's arms off before you kill it.

On top of that is massive weapon and armor customization.

It's pretty awesome.

And I'll answer any other questions.

And I still haven't got to the Skells.

The world is massive as are the variety of enemies.

I haven't notice blurry jagged edges at all. It looks awesome on the big screen, but it also is extremely well done solo on the gamepad. So I can play while Mrs. Breesus does whatever the hell she does.

I would surprised if I felt this way. I haven't seen the game on a TV, but I would imagine it will look similar to Bayonetta 2 in terms of jaggies.

Anti aliasing takes a good bit of horsepower that the wii u doesn't have

What I'm talking about is the cost of stretching a 720p image across a 1080p screen.
