I'm about 4-5 hours in and have a lvl 11 commando.

The combat is definitely fun.

I miss the days when games came with booklets explaining some concepts. There are some things I don't understand that a manual would've answered for me.

There's a link to the manual in the game itself, and you can get to it from the home screen (press the home screen button on the gamepad).

And yes, it's required reading. There's a bunch they don't tell you.

This game will own me whenever I allow myself to buy it (which won't be until a price drop, most likely).

I love how different it is with each class. If you get bored, switch classes. Once you master a class, the game gets to be alot of fun.

holy shite i cannot describe how awesome it is when you step into your first skell.

Every single aspect from individual piece color schemes to each seperate weapon, then frame itself, all of the armor, even the name is customizable.

This is the coolest thing ever.

Maybe someone can help me with this.

I'm currently lvl 12 and I have over 150k in money. I need to upgrade my armor and weapons but I can't seem to find anything to purchase and after upgrading the arm's manufacturers, I can't find where those new items are sold.

Directly next to the console where you upgrade your arms manufacturer is the console to buy and sell your armor and weapons. If you're standing at the console, turn left, West on the compass, and walk a few feet.

ETA:

If you're a gatherer/Explorer person go look in the arms manufacturer console at the ingredients needed to build new weapons and armor. They are always better than what's for sale in the general public console.

But at lvl 12 tour fine just buying the general stuff. Really you should just buy the general stuff until at least lvl 20

Also, I unlocked the lightsaber last night.

Jumping out of my giant mech Gundam like transformer to click on my lightsaber and slaughter the last remaining enemy is too much fun. Nerdgasm.

Is this an action RPG? The little bit of what I've seen (including ambiance and story of relocating to another planet) reminds me of PSO.

No. There's auto attack and skill selection, with free roam around a battlefield. It's not turn based in the traditional sense, but it's not an action RPG like Kingdom Hearts or Tales.

I guess I need to build some stuff. I can't buy anything new from the shop until lvl 20 and the stuff on there now sucks.

Did you read the manual? He's a Titan. And a lvl 15 one. Aren't you lvl 12? Go lvl up. Titans can be defeated early if you have outstanding gear and a really well put together skills and arts selection coupled with some luck and a good team.

I belive the buildbable gear starts at lvl 10.

But you can also find weapons and armor by just scouring the land and killing everything you see.

Do you use appendage lock when fighting? It can give you specific ingredients and sometimes specific weapons and armor

He was only lvl 14 for me and I was able to get him after hitting 13.

Didn't realize how significant of a difference lvls make in this game.

Yep . They're big both for increase in abilities as well as arts and skills.

Level gaps are huge in this game. Especially with so many different levels - Combat, BLADE, Gear, etc.

Also, I haven't bought much from the store. I mostly keep my tank - Lin, H.B. or L, completely top of the line stocked and use drops for almost everyone else. Level 18 right now.

(And I've bought when I switched classes as well.)
