I'm down, if you are talking about older games. I'm not playing any current gens that are worth while.

Like I said I think we need very few rules because then we just start alienating people.
I say we take a day to dominate games for September, make a case for why we should play the game, then we can spend a day or 2 voting on them.
After that I think we can just have an in game thread discussion about the game all month while we play them just like we would a new release.
How does this sound to y'all?

What's taking so long bro?
I've kinda switched to watching a whole heck of a lot of backlog shows on Netflix / Hulu / Amazon - it's insane the amount of TV I've missed out on over the last 20 years.
I'll be active on the Movie / TV Board once the new shows start back up though, Arrow, The Flash, and Heroes of Tomorrow can't get here soon enough!

I'm nominating metal gear solid 3.
Not only was it critically acclaimed but it's also the game that falls before MGS 5 on the timeline. This makes it more relevant with the upcoming release.

I'll second Earthbound..
While most RPGs are set in fantasy, quasi-medieval, dragon lands, Earthbound's starting location is small town USA (Eagleland). You take the role of 4 kids instead of a mystical dragoon and are armed with baseball bats, frying pans, and bottle rockets. You fight cranky old ladies and runaway dogs instead of the typical doldrums of RPG enemies. You get to fight a fricking cup of coffee. You save the game by calling your dad and he deposits money on your ATM card. The writing in Earthbound is one its strongest suits, imo. You will seriously try to speak to everyone twice to read the all funny arse dialogue, not to mention the cult spoofs of things such as the Beetles, The Blues Brothers, Monty Python, Mr. T, The Grateful Dead, and many more. I could go on and on.
Fuzzy pickles.

I nominate Super Castlevania IV
This was one of the first games for the SNES and one that really showed off the "power" of the system. It has imaginative level design where no two levels feel the same, and Simon's Super Castlevania iteration can control his jump and swing his whip in multiple directions.

I am down for this,
I might not be able to participate for every title, but I am down to play.
I nominate Metroid Prime

The only problem with nominating some of these games is they might not be the easiest to track down. Running a PS2 or Gamecube emulator isn't an option for everyone.

I actually really like this idea. In.

are we talking ROMs?
It would have to be.
And it would need to be anything Sega Genesis or SNES or PC and earlier.

That's why we will vote. Obviously people would vote for what they can actually play. I fully expect some people won't be able to participate at times. Chances are with a vote the winner will be accessible to most.
