Steam OS: Launching Tonight

I'm really excited to see this finally launching. Since Steam OS is Linux based it has and will continue to push developers to support Linux.
Why is this a big deal? The only real reason any of us PC gamers use Windows is because of support, and as you all know, Linux is free.

unlike those that play PC exclusively, who are unable to admit some stuff with consoles is cool, I am able to admit this looks like it could be really cool

There are only a few ppl on this board that truely only plays PC. A lot of the time they are trolling.
I play PC, 3DS and PS4. Really need to get off my arse and purchase a WiiU.

Nevermind on me installing SteamOS. Have to have a Nvidia card. That's funny since Nvidia has never given a single frick about Linux.

of course, but it doesn't make sense why we can't apt-get our AMD drivers...just like you would in Linux. You know, because it's fricking Linux.

Maybe because AMD has been providing proper support for Linux for a while, and it's not that big of a deal. Nvidia just jumping on the money bandwagon.

No, my point is that, unless they have disabled the terminal, then there's no reason why you couldn't run AMD on it now. I would not doubt that they have disabled it or hid it, because they're trying to attract consolers, and we all know how pathetically dumb most of them are. It would be ridiculous for them to remove it, in my opinion. Terminal is part of the charm of linux, and removing it would just be catering to people who don't want to learn. I'm not saying make it the end all and be all of installing/updating/uninstalling, because that's not the way it is now(sometimes), but some people prefer the terminal.
