Do I really have to get the Astro a50s? Or can I get something half the price with the same sound. I'm on Xbox btw.

No. Been using a $10 keyboard and turtle beach x11/12s for 7 years. Never had an issue w not being able to hear noise or it's direction. Extra price should only be considered for wireless and comfort.

I don't care to use headphones any more, but I do like the comfort of my Astro A50's and being wireless.

Turtle Beach have good prices, but I believe they clamp or have a tighter feel? I have never tried them, just going off past reviews I would read.

I am sure there are some decent alternatives out there if price isn't justified.

I currently have Logitech G430. They're cheap and are pretty good. I don't know if they're Xbox compatible though.

I've had Tritton's all of my life and love them. The pair I'm currently using cost me only $80 and I've had them for 3+ years.

ETA: Welp...I see they no longer make my headset or any other high end headset

Best "gaming" headphones I've ever used. My A40s don't even come out of their box anymore. Don't pay a premium for surround sound headsets.

amazon

i bought these a couple years ago, only razer product i own, very comfortable, good sound both speakers and mic, my kids use them from time to time so they are very durable. Took me a while to find some that were comfortable on my wapped head, i like the oval ear cushions.

Turtle beach stealth 700 for Xbox is what I use. Great sound quality, some noise canceling ability, wireless Bluetooth. Functional for pc as well. Mic is easy to use and durable

I did a ton of research and all the audiophiles recommended the Phillips SHP9500 headphones with the V-Moda Boom Pro is the best bang for the buck. If it was sold in a combo package as a "gaming headset," it would run $250, guaranteed. Lots of people saying that it outclasses most $350 setups. Keep in mind that most "gaming headsets" are pure garbage in terms of sound quality. It's all marketing. They are open back, so keep that in mind if you play in a room that has people coming in and out. You can hear them (if your volume isnt high) and they can hear your sound

ETA: can be used for Xbox, PS4, and PC

Only other sets I would consider are Sennheiser. Do not buy Turtle Beach

I like my PS Gold headset. The only issue is the hinges, which eventually break. The easy fix is to apply a small bit of epoxy on each hinge to prevent them from breaking. You can find them in the $79 to $99 range depending on sales.

I’ve had everything from Tritons, Turtle Beaches, to Astro’s and none of them have compared to the Senheiser Game One’s. The sound is unbelievable and has taken sound whoring to another level.

They’re also built to last from both the headset itself and the wiring. So glad a buddy of mine recommended them to me.

huh? it's one cord lmao. the boom pro connects to the headset and has a 3.5mm cable that plugs into the controller The cord has mute and volume wheel on it.
