to help it creep up a little more, upcoming releases...

Nostalgia and the fact that they were revolutionary.
Game developers were still toying with how to best approach a free 3D control setting.
OOT pretty much solidified it, and its style pretty much dictated how it was done untilthe trend transitioned to using an secondary analog stick to control camera angles.

Nostalgia typically doesn't hold up when you start playing a game again.
Example: goldeneye, the nostalgia isn't enough to get me to play past a couple levels, the game just didn't stand the test of time.
I'm replaying OOT right now, and it for sure stood the test of time. It's a great game.
You took the words right out of my mouth.
Nostalgia makes me re-install or start to re-play a game. There are plenty of games that I get nostalgic about and start to play but never finish... some of the Final Fantasies, for example. But when I get nostalgic and start over in OOT, it's so much fun that I will play it to completion again. That game will forever stand the test of time.

I would play through once by yourself and then once through with a guide. The first time I used a guide it absolutely blew my fricking mind how detailed this game is. You never really realize it just playing through on your own because you sort of just keep stumbling across something and, personally, I never thought most of the stuff you found was worth anything. The great thing is pretty much everything you find has a purpose and will hep you in someway throughout the game.

There is still a chest or heart piece in one of the last dungeons of LttP, TO THIS DAY, that I have never gotten to. It's readily visible but I could never figure out how to get it. I've never taken the time to replay it and Google that crap.

Okay so something has been bugging me for a while. I have the digital version of Hyrule Historia and it obviously has the official timeline in it and everything. But my question is (and I know this seems pretty trivial) that with the split timeline that has the adult and child timelines present, what happens right before you're sent back supposedly to the child timeline?
Zelda says Ganondorf has been sealed blah blah and that you have to put the Master Sword back in to close the portal to the sacred realm and ultimately send you back in time. Now this is what I ask. Is the adult timeline the result of you putting the sword back and sealing the Sacred Realm? Thus never sending you back to your childhood? A scenario where Zelda never says that you have to be sent back to your timeline to live out your life. Of course I don't understand if the Adult timeline is referencing AFTER Link grows up from the child timeline either so if that could be specified to that would be greatly appreciated.
I wonder if Aonuma will ever clarify how many years go by as well until the seal on Ganon awakens in the adult timeline, thus starting the events of the wind waker.
Like wtf
Are there any big time zelda fans that can explain that to me?

I'm playing LttP right now. I'll let you know what it is if I find it

Every game has at least 1 I can't get.

Zelda games are fairly irrelevant to modern gaming. The premise and gameplay are virtually identical from game-to-game, and they've failed to evolve over the years like similar titles.
Gamers of the past have a lot of nostalgia for things that games like Skyrim do far better today

You are right. Zelda needs a gun and 10 year olds cussing each other out.

If you go to the Wii channel and use the Wii shop Majora's Mask is supposed to be on there, and theres a vocal part of the fan base that believe that game is better than Ocarina of Time.
Yep. It's one of the deepest games ever made, even if on the surface you're frustrated it only has 4 temples. It's a perfect game, and I wish they'd remake it, and add 4 more lands (in the NE, NW, SE, and SW of the map) and add a Rito and Mogma transformation mask, and you've got a great remake.

Also speaking of Majora's Mask, I'm a bit bummed they didn't announce a Majora's Mask remake for either the 3DS or Wii U. They've been cockteasing us for years with this game, and went overboard with like 5 references to the game last year. I'm glad we're getting a Zelda that looks new or different, but that's the one Zelda game that is just begging to be remade.

I love Zelda and despise Skyrim. Skyrim is cool and fun to explore for a while but those guys are terrible story tellers.
