Can't wait to fire up some civ v.

Tip: don't get gods and kings. Stay vanilla and download civ nights. I played vanilla for a while and liked it. Got bored, added nights, whole new game. It revamps the tech and totally overhauls policy. Makes diplomacy tougher and more realistic too. You don't carry diplomacy effects for the entire game, borders carry more weight, and you can't ally with the entire world as easily.

Then I got God's and kings. Won't work with nights and the improvements aren't worth it IMO. The spy stuff sucks if you're good. I always focus heavy and early on tech and if you're leading in tech, you can't pull new techs with spies. There isn't much benefit. Religion is lame too and the "new tech" isn't all that great.

I recently rebuilt my computer too.

AMD A8-3850 2.9 GHz quad core APU
16-GB 1600mhz ddr3 ripjaw ram
XFX radeon HD 6670 2gb ddr3

That's my main stuff. I would've liked a better gpu but the 6670 is the highest I can crossfire with my processor. I can pull skyrim on ultra with little to no problem with the HD texture pack lite off of nexus. Civ 5 runs great as well.

For a sub $400 upgrade, I like it.

I almost have a better GPU in my home server. You should have spent the extra money you did on RAM to put towards the GPU.

Don't do a ton of heavy gaming so I didn't feel I needed one. Plus the 6670 is the highest I can go to crossfire with the APU.

Haven't kept up with the boys in blue much this summer. I was scared we were going to sell off da kun. Been a pretty quiet couple months though.

There's not much point in xfiring that gpu. A single 6850 is far better than xfired 6670s

Its crossed with 6550 built into the APU. I considered going bigger but I'm a sucker for new-ish stuff and wanted to try out the APU deal. It performs way better than my old build, which is all I was concerned with. My old system was shite and I just wanted an upgrade. I'll probably never max out my hardware as is right now.

Well gentlemen I put it all together. Everything looks to be functional but it says "no signal" on my monitor. I tried both dvi and vga on the card and the board. Tried reseating the RAM. Any ideas?

Does the motherboard or CPU have on board graphics ?

Go in to the BIOS and make sure those are off.

This. If that doesn't work, pull out the GPU and go straight to the mobo.
