Check back on my edited post where I finished the lists.

That's not bad at all.

I like the GPU. Not a bad price at all. I'm a complete noob at this and have zero experience with hardware. I found that stuff just off of reviews and whatnot.

blue has a pretty solid setup there.

btw ordered my CPU, heatsink, OS, HDD today. Just waiting to see about coyote's card to complete my newegg order and get this show on the road. BTW newegg is running a promo on nvidia cards that started yesterday where you get a free copy of borderlands 2 with gpu. pretty sweet deal if you plan on playing borderlands 2

DO NOT get the 6770. It's a pretty outdated and below par card. The 6850 is a better choice, but its not as "future proof" as the 6950 and 7850.

Do you plan on over clocking? If not font get the k series intel, since it's used for OC'ing. Get the 2400 instead if you aren't.

yeah, I plan on OCing it. Thanks for the advice though. GPUs are really my concern. I don't really even know where to begin. There just seems to be so many.

For gpus, the newer models on the amd line are x850 and up to x970. The better nvidia gpus are 560s and up.

I just got my SSD so I will hold off for a while. It's like an addiction, I can play everything I have but I want to get better stuff stuff that I don't really need.

Yea, pcpartpicker has it coming out to $550ish but that's with microcenters in store pricing, so it's probably closer to $600

I love going overkill.

For your AMD build, I would recommend the AMD FX-4100 over that Athlon. Still better cheap and it is a cool running chip that is easily overclocked.

Currently have it running in my home server.

ordered all the rest of my parts yesterday. Some from amazon, some from ncix, and most from newegg. Will be interesting to see what each seller is like for future reference. Can't wait to fire up some civ v.

I never had any problems with my parts, but I RMA'd a video card that I had bought but didn't want and the RMA process with ncix is easy
