I'm having serious issues with the 7970 not coming back online after the computer goes to sleep mode. I googled and tried the MSI afterburner solution but no dice.

You could disable sleep mode. I don't need it personally. With my ssd I don't hesitate to turn it on and off completely.

Well the issue extends itself into other areas. Normally it takes a hard reset for the card to recognize the HDMI, but I had to do that twice today before it kicked on. And that was just going from no power, not sleep mode.

Yeah I have, hopefully new ones fix this. It's annoying as hell.

They are being released for crossfire issues but they may fix it. I would completely uninstall all drivers and reinstall tomorrow when they release.

Your monitor is connected to the card via HDMI?

What are your windows power management settings? Namely. PCIe link state and maybe USB.

Well shite the HDD on this laptop someone gave me is also bad. It makes crazy clicking noises and won't show up in BIOS or work in the docking station on the 650D.

I was going to try and at least get their data off of it for them but I can't even access it to make an image of it.

It was a 500GB 7200 RPM drive too. Pretty nice for a laptop.

It was moderate, should it be off?

Honestly, I turn off pretty much every power-saving function available. My gaming rig runs 24/7 unless I know I won't be home for at least a day. If you want your computer to sleep, try disabling everything but that function and see what it does.

Do you run your pc in balanced or high performance? does it even make a difference?

Do you find high performance gives you any actually benefit or do you just do it in case?

The profile name doesn't matter, because you can change the settings under all of them. There's no "performance boost"; I just don't want my computer to turn anything off just because I'm not around. I am constantly back and forth to my PC with tons of shite always running, either for work or for personal projects.

Redoing my home server to record security camera video 24/7. It is only 1 camera to watch my UPS/FedEx drop offs when away.

So since it wil be in use more often, i want an efficient low power CPU.
