Perfect. Identical to what I suggested, but AMD. Would still be a great $1k gaming PC.
You'd think with my experience I'd quit blindly pledging allegiance to the intel CPU/AMD Gpu combo, but alas.

I know what you mean, I always think about intel but for gaming there is little reason not to go amd unless you play one of those few games intel favors.

No, for serious. The 8350 outperforms all of the i5s in general.
HOWEVER, it is worth noting that out of all the things that the 8350 does better, gaming is not one of them. That's something to consider for a primarily gaming oriented system. But the performance difference may not be significant enough that it means lower settings to achieve 60fps.
However, there may actually be a big difference. Multi threaded game performance will be the negligible different or the same. But apparently single threaded games (Skyrim, mmos, etc) will benefit a LOT from the intel. It apparently outperforms the AMD by as much as 50% in single threaded applications.
These are probably results at stock speeds. I'm still out and using my phone, so I can't really do any extensive research.

This is very true. From a productivity standpoint it excels in programs that take advantage if the extra "cores" but in single threaded applications then the intels usually win because the core for core performance is strong with them. Yeah, usually in gaming it's a +/- 5% unless it's a game like skyrim which is heavily CPU dependent and in that case the intel usually wins(yet again single core performance).
My theory is that with the new consoles using 8 "core" AMD chips then the new games will be more optimized for that particular setup.
Hopefully that will be the since I bought the 8350 yesterday.
Also, I record ALL of my gameplay and stream from time to time(probably all the time now) and render videos.

Skyrim, starcraft, and a handful of those game favor intel. I don't even know if the rest is as much as 5%. You would make up for whatever small difference it is by putting that money into upgrading the gpu.

Not really because I am too lazy.
I just sold a mobo I paid $25 for with shipping and everything for $79 shipped on Ebay.
