Right you just said nothing coming for Ryzen until 7nm in 2019 but I was correcting you because there is a 14nm+ refinement coming next year for Ryzen.

Should see better clocks and a slight improvement similar to the Intel cycle.

I think I read the goal is 4.5GHz clocks on Ryzen 1.

Yeah, driving down i10 brother. Sorry.

They should get that but the shtt is touchy when making a process node smaller. Smaller pkg needs less power, cool. But the compact node has another compact node right next to heat so you end up producing the same amount of heat but with less surface area to disperse heat.

It is a super fine line we have been fighting but would be awesome to see Ryzen hit 4.5GHz out the box for stock. It needs to do that, now more than ever until games utilize more than 4 cores better.

Yes it would, or even 6/8 core+ Intel CPU's. They'll get there though, as we said earlier no one really upgrades CPU's on a regular or yearly basis so being patient is pretty easy on that front.

I have always been a sucker for APUs. The dream of having a tiny iTX box which doesn't need a dGPU was always a tasty thought. I've purchased nearly every APU flagship chip since Llano on socket FM1.

The performance wont get you playing AAA titles @ 1080 on Ultra settings but it is great for emulators. You can internal render at 8K and display at 4K for really nice looking games. Makes playing all the old Mario Parties that much better.

AMD’s Raven Ridge APUs are expected to arrive in few months. No one really knows when exactly and what are the specs of the new series, but thanks to a tip, we have a possible listing of the first Ryzen 2000 series processor.

The listing reveals that Ryzen 5 2500U comes with integrated Radeon Vega graphics. The APU has 4 cores and 8 threads. This is most likely a mobile processor with integrated graphics, as suggested by the postfix U, similar to Intel’s nomenclature.

As for the graphics performance, well it’s not really good, but it might just be a multimedia-oriented processor

Apparently this is the rig to be shown off at Siggraph.

What custom loop system is this it looks fantastic, would love that setup but looks like it would be annoying af to install. And at least Vega looks sexy as hell.

Well Coffee Lake seems meh. Top end 6 core offering max OC 4GHz, that is the same as Ryzen. shite maybe I should just convert to my microATX build and use a Ryzen 5 1600.

Maybe if Ryzen paired with Vega does in fact have benefits which they said it would, that will give me a reason to swap other than just for fun.

It's just expensive. Spent almost 10K (counting PC parts) when hard tubing my rig and going all AquaComputer parts in 2013.

Edt: Was driving in while replying, they don't have blocks on that card. Looks good with the added filters and bubblers for pictures but you don't want air in the lines. Its just a shot for pretty pics.

Went to purchase a Ryzen 3 1300X @ $129 and ASRock iTX MOBO @ $109.

Well.. not paying for the price of DDR4. MFer.

Yeah, I'm glad I didn't go with rigid tubing. You can bend the stuff really carefully but it seems most people stick with straight runs and use angled fittings. That's when it gets really expensive.

Even straight runs are a pain.

Those fittings aren't cheap. Each 90 + 2xconnectors is about 25 bucks.

I've almost decided to get a 1440p gsync panel, but seeing that korean 1440s are $120-150 is swaying me towards one. I really want a third monitor that I can run in portrait, and it's pissing me off that I cant find a matching crossover 1440

You still have those CrossOvers?

What I dont like about monitors are the anti-glare matte displays. Can not stand that junk.

THose are from 2012 I believe. Not sure you will find some even on eBay.

Sure do, I love them. I may get a gsync 1440 for my center monitor and put the other two as my side two, or get a cheap korean to run as my portrait monitor. There are still some koreans on ebay from that era

Yeah they are decent monitors.

I suggest 32"+ for the central monitor.

Nothing exciting. Was on a titanfall 2 run for the last 6 months. I started Dishonored 2 back in April, barely did anything in it before putting it down when I started my new job. I still only play games in short bursts, so involved story games take me a while to get into. At my old job, I could fire up a game during down time or stay up really late and just sleep a little later. Not much down time at the new job, and I have to maintain a consistent sleep schedule (the benefit being no all-nighters or long/odd hours during busy times, either).

I bought Xenoverse 2 yesterday. Missed that one because it was released while I was rebuilding my house.

I also started using the beta Steam Link app on my Samsung TV this week, and I'm surprised at how well it works without needing to buy the Steam Link hardware. I picked up a wireless XBox controller and can now play Xenoverse 2 in bed on my 4K Samsung. It works extremely well even using my TV's onboard WiFi, but I'm sure I'll need Cat6 for more demanding games. This will actually motivate me to get better at using a controller. Fine with driving and fighting games, but can't aim for shite any time shooting is required (FPS, and third-person like GTA). Then I'll try to give Dishonored 2 a shot with the controller.
