I had read about a high pitched whine on the Strix cards and this is true mine has it. I would suggest anyone thininking about buying one to stay away from my experience.

Almost all GPUs with crazy voltage limits have coil whine. I hate it more than anything, especially on a water cooled PC.

It sucks.

I put my Grandparents on Chromebooks back in 2013. Guess I might care about them more?

Im joking

What is awesome about Chromebooks and old ppl is that they just need to worry about 1 thing and the whole OS is built around that 1 thing.. the browser!

There is a hacked up ChromeOS you can install in old laptops. Works awesome and makes older laptops zoom.

omg... on site at a project today and internet was slow. So wanted to see if I can log into the router and see if any QoS was enabled. It is a consumer grade router, NETGEAR Nighthawk X6 R8000.

They left the default log ins. Admin for user and password for pass.

For time it ever has worked!

Well no grandparents need this. It's my wife's old laptop that collects dust. I want to backup her hdd and ditch the rest.

I actually really miss 144Hz. :/

Next year we'll start seeing 120Hz 4K displays and I'll upgrade again even if it requires to 2 Vega cards to push it.

Luckily all the new cards are compatible with both DisplayPort1.3 and 1.4.

1.3 can do 4K 120Hz, and 1.4 can do 4K 120Hz HDR 10bit color.

Speaking of HDR, I wonder when games will begin to incorporate it? Monitors should next year now with all new TV's having HDR and most use 10 bit color too. May have some really sick monitors next year.

The thought of gaming on a 4K 120Hz 10 bit color monitor with high dynamic range in a few years gets me excited.

I just got this mic combo for my desktop LINK.

Is there a cheap way to make the mic wireless? I hate having cable clutter

Haha I had a chuckle at that too. Was fun to unbox a $6000 computer.

I bet. It's been a while since I've had the opportunity play with ultra high-end HW. It's the specialized workstation builds I miss the most, where the 6- and 8-core CPUs and 32GB of RAM actually serve a purpose.

This PC will have 128 GB of RAM I was told. I really hope this guy actually is a storm chaser or he's just pissing money.
