Between quests, exploring, inventory management, settlements, gear modding, npc chats..time just melts away.
And it's glorious
And it's glorious

I can definitely see how people get stuck playing this game for 10 hours at a time.
There really are an insane number of things to do. You really could play this for several hundred hours doing nothing more than exploring and settlement building without ever doing a single quest.
Sure, pure exploration isn't for everyone but I'm loving it. I'll get back to moving the plot along a bit over the weekend.

Since I hit lvl 25, I am focusing on armorer and gun nut. Outsides of the next gunslinger perk at 27, I will have rank 3 in armorer and gun nut by lvl 29. Then I might go into the glowing sea to continue the story

This damn game has got me hooked. Between the world, crafting, better story and modding.....

Guns update: When I hit lvl 27 (half a level to go) my guns will be the below:
Deliverer: Silenced, 25% less VATS cost, with mods and perks, 106 damage
Legendary Kneecapper (20% chance to cripple leg) .308 pistol with long scope, with mods and perks, 120 damage, 300+ range
Legendary 10mm, silenced, +15 aoe damage upon hit, with mods and perks, 130 damage
Kellog's Pistol: 180 damage with mods and perks

Alright, I'm back in the game. I had to pretty much start over because of the glitch I had.

I've played probably close to 40 hours and I haven't done a quest since Concord and going to Diamond City. I've spent all my time building a house and just walking around with Dogmeat, hoarding shite and killing everyone. Every time I scroll through my quest list and pick one, I get distracted on my way there, never make it and acquire three more quests.

I should have never come across the interactive map that shows the magazine, bobblehead and holotape locations. Now I spend my time collecting all that shite. I'll be unstoppable once I decide to continue my story quest again.

I've found at least 6 or 7 bobbleheads on my journeys. Maybe I'll go hunting the rest down soon.
So I just ran into my first mission glitch. I finished a recon quest for the BOS, finding all 4 members of a recon team, and was told to report back to the head guy. When I get to him, the dialogue that was triggered was associated with my initiation into the BOS where he just asked me what I thought of everything. Blah blah blah, that finishes, but it's still tell me to report to him about the recon team. Every time I try to talk to him, all I get is "you have your orders, son" and nothing happens. Saved, quit out, nothing helps. Eff. That mission should have a big XP payout and I can't get it

Are there any quest missions that give extremely good guns or should I just pause the main quest after Kellogg?

I had one last night. Deacon is supposed to use a terminal but he won't. I didn't know Deacon was supposed to open the terminal so I spent about an hour looking for a hidden terminal.
Hopefully when I reload tonight he will MOVE his arse to the terminal because I can't get the weave without this damn quest.

Talk to him? Explain how close he is to getting a stimpack up his arse if he doesn't move it along?

the Deliverer is my favorite / most used gun. Got it on one of the first missions for the Railroad. 10mm, silenced, increased chance of hit in VATS, 25% less VATS cost.
Posted on 12/2/15 at 9:46 am to ShoeBang
Alright, cool. I'll start the railroad stuff.

You sure the talking to him isn't optional? Because I had to go to another location(military base I think) after finding them.

Ya, I had to reload when that happened.
