You sure the talking to him isn't optional? Because I had to go to another location(military base I think) after finding them.
It takes me to the airship and the icon never leaves his head. I'll make sure I don't have another mission turned on but I usually keep one active at all times.

I really need to get to Diamond City.....if I don't move the story along, I'm going to burn out.

If there is 1 flaw with this game is that it is not as linear as it should be

I disagree. I like the non-linear aspect of it. If I woke up in a Vault like that after a nuclear holocaust and my son was stolen from me I would just be wandering around aimlessly too for the most part.

The whole point of open world games is to get rid of that old school RPG linearity A>B>C>D>E......>Z

I love it being open world. I just have to keep myself on task at times. I could explore all of the time, but at some point, I would get bored.

Gonna have to disagree with you here.

Bad choice of words on my part. Dont get me wrong I like taking a break from the story, but if I wanted to I could explore the whole map without ever really getting into the main story quest. But that's my own fault.

It can be distracting for sure. For me, that's the beauty of Bethesda open world games.
We're all not wired the same, however.

I am at the part of the storyline where you have to kill a certain synth to get into The Institute. I have been at that point for about 8-10 hours, at least I am doing some Minutemen and BOS quests, and I got Castle Love that settlement location. Especially when you learn how to fix the walls. It's close to impenetrable and I have turrets everywhere. Definitely going to make it my main base once I can build all of the crafting stations (Need local leader lvl 2)

Question: How do I get to do the BOS mission where I get to go on the ship and get the T60 armor? I did the ARCJet mission and the Lost Patrol Mission with Paladin mission, and I also did about 7 quests between the the Chick and Dude and I still haven't gotten on the ship. I also finished Semper Invicta. Please help!
Thank!
Thank!

The quests between the dude and chick(assuming you mean the 2 in the popo station) are radiant AI quests.
Did you completely finish the lost patrol mission? Could've sworn I got the cut scene after I finished the army base part.
Been awhile tho.

You have to complete the initial quest with Nick Valentine. The nature of the quest escapes me at the moment.

is the T60 armor always there? I went to the ship, couldn't find it and left. I met all the folks there and everything.

It only becomes available as you progress the story, it's not just sitting around to take.

Did you take the fort yet? Maybe you need to do the first quest to take the fort in order to get the armor.
But I have no clue. I don't remember.

SPOILER
When you are sent to meet the people on the ship you should get access to it.
