That little lakehouse they had was nicely done too. Then I get on one day and see lava and fire all over...
I've been playing the 1.8 pre-release this weekend with a buddy of mine who just got into the game. Bunch more biomes since when we had the server, and multi is nearly 100% like single player now, barring a few bugs. I'd definitely be up for it.

I was on the server for a while. Our relocation to a village far form the spawn survived for quite a while before douchenugget found that too. I've got a leaked 1.8 patch installed and ready to play again. I want to build an aircraft carrier/battleship Fo Real.

yeah the other village was great.
i liked my original home at the spawn, but once we made the village i made a small house that was actually huge due to the fact that it was built into the side of a mountain.
I had a treasure room with 20 or so chests and then a secret treasure room with about 4 chest that was hidden.
i had finally gotten the hang of the red stone in order to make locks and double doors. if we get it going you can expect me to make alot of redstone contraptions.

I don't see why they need to bitch when we've had the pre-release since friday. There are one or two bugs out there that they want to fix first, bugs which these same people would have gone into an even bigger uproar over if it had been released that way.

That link has the minecraft_server.jar for 1.8 pre-release. Only reason I'd suggest that if you were making a new world is so the terrain can have the new stuff possibly, in case the fix for 1.73 maps not having 1.8 terrain generate doesn't make it in to the final 1.8 release.
eta: My funniest death over the weekend was exploring a world and running into nighttime with no supplies. So I dug a 3 block deep hole and jumped in. Went to close it off above me and I heard "ssssssssssss", looked up just in time to see a creeper decided he wanted to hide there too

Which part? the patching to 1.8 or the connecting to server?
