That happens when a product launches AFTER its competitor. Doesn't matter. Picking up steam now. Only a matter of time. Gloat while you can.

Which is pointless. If you're already wearing your headset, you've already got a controller in your hand

Unless you're watching a movie or tv show and use your high quality headset instead of shitty TV speakers, you turn the controller off when watching. Or if you watch in bed.

I have the PS camera, I prefer to use the headset for voice controls but I often leave my controller down and it shuts off after 10 mins and I just use my voice to navigate to the homescreen and launch my game or shut down the console.

Giving people the option to use either shouldn't be an issue but for MS it is, cram it down your throat.

This was news way before this was ever announced.

But the difference is now you get 8% of extra power out of the GPU, which means no developers are giving that up for Kinect features. At this point why is the Kinect even bundled with the One? Why not take it out and make it $400 if developers flat out ignore it.

What's up with all this frame rate resolution crap does it even matter.

No game is make or brake for me based on FPS and resolution, but you absolutely can tell the difference between 60 and 30fps.

It is already optional, Titanfall isn't using the kinect for anything. This was news way before this was ever announced.

Right, which is really saying something when the biggest game for the system for probably at least the first year isn't even using something Microsoft made mandatory and jacked up the price for.

Just seems like another terrible move by MS right now, maybe that'll change in the future.

If a developer feels like they want to make something for it, they know everyone owns one.

Because it is part of console and majority of One users will tell you how awesome it is.

If they do then maybe they will. There is no proof that they will.

I've played the game and there really are zero uses for kinect, unless they wanted to use some voice commands. It is way to hectic of a game for it to use it for anything else.

Which I know not a single person who does. Besides you, which does not surprise me.

I actually admire the devs of Titanfall for choosing not to use Kinect. You can guarantee MS urged them to use it.

Thoughts? Starting to wonder just how soon we might see a xbox one without kinect package

Whenever this happens ill purchase the XBONE. Right now my Roku 3 and HTPC is still my central media hub. I purchased a PS4 just to test the new gen compared to my APU builds, but have always been interested in what the XBONE has to offer on the media front but wasn't paying $600 for basically a "cable box".

That's what I read in the comments on articles when that was first announced. Seemed like people thought they'd have some voice commands at the least.

Seems like every PS4 game uses the DS4's touchpad for something even if it is small, like pulling up Battlelog on BF4 by clicking it, bringing up the map in Don't Starve, etc.

I don't do either and didn't say I did, I know a few that do. But if you want to be a douche and start that shite then go ahead, some are trying to keep this civil and just discuss so move along.

BF has them and I end up using them on accident more than I actually mean to. There really isn't thing that needs commanding during.

I don't see the need for the kinect in games anyways. I think it's perfect for getting around the UI and accepting party invites and what not. Other than that, it doesn't hurt my feelings if it's not integrated into a game.

Do you find yourself using it outside of "Tuning it On"?

I don't blame you, just seems like to me there was a lot more hype around the Kinect 2.0 and it being mandatory for the One than just something to navigate the UI.

Are you actually using it when you have a controller in your hand? People navigating the UI when in a party would be annoying as frick if you're always in a party like I am.

I tell it to turn the volume up or down on my tv, accept party invites and to snap to various apps.

Volume, surround sound, cable as well. Again, it's not limited to the voice commands of PS and games like Project Spark have me quite intrigued.
