I had no idea this game released Friday. It's not even on IPtorrents yet.

EDIT: nm just saw it's not out for PC until Nov. 19.

But why is it coming out after the console versions? Sam Kovalev, Studio Production Manager at Ubisoft Kiev, tells us the development team is dedicated to ensuring PC players get the most stable, optimized version of the game on day one.

“We have introduced several new improvements to our production pipeline and validation process, which allowed us to focus on polishing, stabilizing and optimizing the PC version very early on in the project,” says Kovalev. “This has been one of the top priorities for the production team this year.”

But even with these new processes in place and everything running on schedule, the team still wants to let Assassin’s Creed Syndicate cook for a little while longer before releasing it on PC, so as to give players the optimal experience. “The additional four weeks are for us to really bear down and finalize all of the polish and optimization, to make sure the game and all of its systems are stable when it launches, so it runs smoothly for all players starting on day one,” explains Kovalev.

Kudos to them for trying to make us think they're still trying.

Speaking of bad ports, Arkham Knight is finally going back on sale for PC October 28

This thread made me want to buy Black Flag on 360. Worth it?

I played the first game for a long time. I love the assassination missions and the combat. How's it compare?

AC II and Brotherhood are the best stories in the Series.

Black Flag is probably the most fun game in the series. I highly recommend you play it. And if you like Black Flag, then you should try Rogue. It was only released on 360/PS3 systems. It basically takes the game engine from Black Flag and moves the game to the New York/Hudson/North Atlantic area. I think Rogue is easily the most underrated game in the series. It's a nice twist where your Assassin switches to the Templar side and shows neither side is always right or wrong.

Back to AC Syndicate. I played a good bit of it this weekend, getting well into Sequence 4 and 28% sync.

I can say so far I'm really enjoying most of it. I like the main characters and I'm partial to Jacob's personality. My only complaint is there is no real reason to choose one over the other as they basically are the same type of character. I've tried to level Jacob up as mostly a fighter and Evie as more stealth but I don't see a real difference. It would be a nice touch to find a way to make each character really different. They are a good duo and make cut scenes with them enjoyable.

I love the zip line. That's a really cool improvement. And I love how easily the characters move across the city. I would say this area is pretty much perfected and only needs fine tuning going forward. You still have the occasional times when your character goes in a direction you didn't intend. Combining the movement of Syndicate and Batman would probably make for a great Spiderman game.

Story is okay so far. Not great but not bad. I do like the aspect that Jacob is just looking to kick arse and take back London.

Many new side mission types, some of which are fun and some aren't. I love the fight clubs...probably my favorite new addition. Kidnapping has grown on me, but it's still not my favorite. I don't love the new carriages as much as the reviews. They do make it easier to get around on the ground, but it's still more fun to zip through the sky. I'm mostly "meh" on the carriage battles and the stealing missions. Others may disagree.

The setting of London is really good along with the time period. I'm not sure what the overall game plan, but so far we are getting closer and closer to modern day. Not sure if they can continue this or need to step back in time. Too much more forward and it becomes a world where guns will be too prolific. That would and could be an interesting opportunity to refresh the series and gameplay. I would also love to see them jump back to feudal Japan and go ninja/samurai with the setting.

So far I'm having a lot of fun with Syndicate. It's not a GOTY candidate, but it's a good AC game. If you're a fan of the series I would recommend you grab the game. If not, it's not different enough to engage you.

I wasn't originally interested, but I am after I got an AC costume. I may play III some this week. How is the sword cane?

I'm playing Black Flag right now. The controls are still really frustrating and the naval battles suck at first. They're ok once you level your boat up a little. You'll be spending a lot of time doing naval battles since that's how you get materials to upgrade your ship and cash for other stuff. There's not as much climbing buildings and running across rooftops as previous games so if that's what you want you'll be disappointed.

I almost wish I would've bought Syndicate on PC. The blurry fuzziness of 900p really detracts from the visuals.

fricking decimal ratings for reviews make no sense to me at all. Like seriously, what in the frick does an 8.2/10 mean?

Finished this game tonight. it's glitchy and has a poor framerate like Witcher 3, but it was an overall enjoyable experience. I don't know if it's my all time favorite Assassin's Creed, in fact I don't think it is, but the game world is probably the most interesting and diverse since AC Brotherhood's Rome.

This was the first AC game where I spent time on the side missions. I conquered all the boroughs and finished all the Charles Dickens ghost society missions.

The storyline was a little bit weak. I felt that with the dual protagonist setup, the developers struggled with telling a cohesive story with game time split between the twins. Evie and Jacob largely follow different paths throughout the game, but there seems to have been more attention paid to Jacob with Evie's missions only taking up about a third or fourth of the main missions within each sequence.

It also lacks a real passage of time. My favorite AC games are those that tell the story over a large amount of time. For all I know, the events of Syndicate take place within a single week.

I do like the direction they are taking the modern-day content. I want playable content in the modern day, but this is the first AC since AC3 where the modern day segments breed purpose for the time you spend re-living your ancestors' memories. I won't spoil the conclusion to the modern day storyline for anyone, but it's a good sign that it won't be as throwaway as it was in Black Flag, Rogue, and Unity.
