Every review is praising the story, so I'm sold. Main part of any game for me.

Meh, I like Destiny so that tells you how little I care about story.

Or I've gotten so numb from FPS multiplayers that story doesn't matter anymore. I use to LOVE playing Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy.

I think that with the exception of the first game and AC Unity, all the AC games have had great stories which is one of the main reasons I enjoy plaing them.

I thought AC4 had a pretty pointless story but the gameplay was fun.

we can laugh at each other because I have it preordered too. Sure they get boring after playing a while but I think most games get old after a few weeks. I will play for a month or 2 and resume playing FIFA or NBA2K. Just like I did for the last Batman.

I bought Black Flag this week and absolutely love it.

Should I get a PS4 to play syndicate? I'd already planned on getting the battlefront bundle

From the reviews I read it sounds like AC Syndicate is, like Unity, more focused now on cool assassination missions than action and exploration. That sounds great to me. Once all the bugs were worked out Unity was actually my favorite AC game because it was much more tightly focused on stealth assassination missions. The combat system was great too.

I only pre-order if the discount/freebies are good enough and I have some confidence in the company but not months in advance, usually a month or so in advance. I used to be a big pre-order guy but learned my lesson.

I pre-ordered so that when I get home from work this afternoon a 40GB game is installed and ready to go.

8 and 9 from IGN and Gamespot.

I have been seeing far lower from others.

Steve Burns' Review

Not sure how people take that site but I have seen a few others being pushed around that had similar takes.

Apparently Ubi also DCMA'd the video that showed all the glitching.

That gamespot video is 8 minutes of a guy complaining about being burned out on a franchise.

8.2 from IGN, 9 from Gamespot, 9 from GameInformer, 8.5 from Polygon.

I'm sold, can't wait.

So did I. I'm probably one of the biggest AC fans around. The only one I really didn't like was III. I even liked Unity, although it was far from my favorite.

same here. 3 put me off of the games for a long time, hell I didn't get Black Flag until I bought a PS4 and it came with it months after release. Unity is a solid game but the bugs just destroyed any momentum. They linked tons of shite with apps and online stuff and none of it worked.

I'm curious if they will venture and try to do it again and hope it works.

So far I like it a lot better than Unity. It's buggy and has framerate problems, but it doesn't feel broken like Unity did.

The story feels a bit lackluster so far though. The protagonists are entertaining, but the different sequences feel disjointed from one another. I don't know if that may change, but I am on sequence 5 of 8.

Oh it is. It can still be bad in places, but it isn't perpetually awful like Unity was pre-patch.
