There are some mechanical issues that make it harder than it needs to be: Ornstein's insane tracking and his ability to attack through Smough and pillars, attacks that simply don't register (especially on Smough) and Ornstein's spear attack's horrible hitbox in his second form. It can be fun, but yeah, the fight isn't fair at all when they're constantly stuck up each other's asses.

The problem I've always had with elemental builds, which 2 does much better, is that lightning doesn't scale with Faith. If you invest points into Faith and keep your weapon at base level because it's infused, you can't even utilize the build-oriented weapon buffs Sunlight or Darkmoon blade - then you're putting MORE points into dex or str to maximize damage.

You can easy mode them with pyromancy.

Ornstein is more annoying than Smough. I try to keep fairly close and hit his legs, his most dangerous move at that range is the butt slam that will one-shot you, but you should be able to back peddle once you recognize it and roll backwards. If you stay in front of him he'll spam that spear thrust which has a terrible hitbox - avoid it at all costs.

Between the dogs and the trees, I can't see for shite. Almost beat him twice...but that's like saying I nearly got laid.
