quote:Not what I'm saying. I don't care where the groups of bandits were on the map. But every encounter with them felt the same. Take out the one or two guys with ranged weapons first and then deal with the horde of swordbros.
Regarding the Witcher and its bandits, I mean would you have rather them had just one group of bandits in the game? I find it perfectly believable that bandits are just posted in random locations than just none at all.
Edit: Still love the game as a whole though.
Arkham Asylum has some pretty good level design as well. I think the level design took a hit when the series moved to open world.

Bloodborne is the best, but super Mario galaxy and metroid prime are a close second

I agree. As much as I loved Witcher 3 the "level design" is nothing special, just like most open world games.
I do think certain Nintendo games excel at level design as previously mentioned.
ETA... Also yes the From Soft games are impeccable when it comes to level design.

Ori and the Blind Forest.

It's hard to find a Nintendo game without good level design. They just do that so well.

They're not bad for kid's puzzles

Stone Tower is the most well designed Temple in the Zelda series.

Yep. Perfect for the average 9 yr old.

Kind of like Fallout's dialogue

Agreed. Dialogue is pointless when you can just kill everything.

Says the 18 year old. Anyone who thinks they're too badass to play Zelda I'd say is pretty immature.

I'm 33 and have played nearly every Zelda game. They were designed for kids. It has nothing to do with my badassery or badassness.

I mean, Majora's Mask is one of the darkest games ever made, certainly Nintendo's darkest game. Majora is an insanely twisted, evil villain who is incredibly competent and does pretty much any crime one can do.

I like Twilight Princess and think the first half is damn fine gaming. The second half of the game though loses its luster. Just the first and second half of the game are insanely different in terms of tone, and not in a good way like Ocarina of Time was. They should have kept those stakes up since I couldn't see any damage the villain was actually doing in the second half of the game, and then he turns into a total joke by the end.

I thought Dragon Age Inquisition is pretty good. There were a few of the dungeons in Skyrim that were great.
The absolute best is EverQuest, some of those old dungeons like Sebilis. Planes of Power was pretty impressive. They really took that whole thought process of MMORPG raiding to a whole different level.
