year old trout in freezer

Have three-four vacuum sealed packs of spec fillets in freezer for past year. Would they still be OK to smoke for a dip or terrine or something?

If it is vacuumed sealed you are fine

If vac sealed well, it will be just fine. I've eaten some frozen two years. It was just fine.

I just (about 6 hours ago now lol; damn it's late) ate a three year old vac sealed backstrap that I didn't even know I had. Just randomly found it trying to make room for some other shite. Tasted as good as ever.
Should state the seal held really well, no freezer burn or ice crystals inside the packaging.

Since it was backstrap, I think that was a good call. Anything else, I'd maybe just leave it in there and hope someone else tossed it.
