Why are there so few Whataburger locations in the Baton Rouge metro area?

Aside from Siegen and the one in Gonzales on 61, I can’t think of any else. For being based in Texas, and beloved by so many people there, how come it hasn’t translated over to Louisiana?

I know we have our share of craft burger places, but it’s like McDonald’s, Burger King and Wendy’s dominate the fast food burger market. One could even argue that there aren’t as many Jack in the Box locations either in Louisiana.

Probably better for my healthy that Seigen is the closest Whataburger though.

I can't believe no one has put up a Whata near the LSU campus that is within walking distance of tiger land. It would absolutely print money there.

There were only 2 that were relatively close to me in Shreveport. They were both super popular so I don't know why they didn't have more. I know they put one where Murrell's used to be.

I've got 2 in walking distance here. So much better than McDonald's and crap.

With all the students from Texas alone that go to LSU it would be a homerun near campus

I wish they would have built a Whataburger instead of the Captain D's near me

I lived in Baton Rouge for well over a decade and I never did visit the local Whataburger. However, if I'm on the road, I may opt to pull in and grab a burger. They're better off on the interstate outposts.

Exactly. Captain D’s is subpar.

Had one in Houma East Side. Didn't last very long. Now it's a Canes.

don not know....only a guess
a lot of these things are franchised by city, so if the franchisee does not want to expand ???

he may still hold the rights... a TOTAL GUESS

They would rake with a location near campus even with the other available options. GOAT

laffy and shreve both have 3-4 locations.

We have 3 in Lafayette. I've always wondered why there aren't any Denny's.
